"Close to Cruise Port and not too far to Sambadrome. Excellent Service. "
Service was excellent! Roberto at the front desk speaks English and he was very willing to help us with getting around Rio. Some of the other staff also spoke English. One gentleman actually ran out into the street in the rain to hail us a cab. In fact, we had a couple of the employees speak with our cab drivers to let them know specifically where to take us... they would also tell us in advance max costs to get somewhere (such as no more than R$70 to the airport or R$20 to the Sambadrome). Pros: Our room was clean, and the shower had good pressure. Quiet rooftop patio. Free breakfast buffet with fair selection of food. There is a restaurant that serves dinner. This was actually important during Carnival as most restaurants were closed! Cons: The room was small and the bed was terrible! The mattress was completely uncomfortable, old and worn looking. The room had no ambiance/style. It was solely functional. We chose to stay at this hotel because the price was decent and it was close to the cruise port. The port is actually walking distance, and there is a nice area to views the ships sail in/ sail away.
"Good, but the years have left the mark"
Overnight in Rio for business. I would not say it is bad, but definitely can find better for the same price. Rooms are a bit outdated (10 years or so maybe). AC unit needs maintanance. Shower head was rusty. Mini bar only has sodas, local beer and water. There are about 20 TV stations but not all of them working. No international TV stations. Better housekeeping would probably make a difference. I think it was a bit over evaluated. The restaurant is expensive for the offered menus and you have to use the same cutlery for the appetizer and the main dish (!') The waiter took it out from the plate and placed it on the table.
"Convenient central location."
This hotel is located in the older part of town. Check-in, check-out was very efficient, with lovely friendly staff. Their standard of English far surpassed my limited Portuguese! Our room was pleasant, with a small bathroom (and somewhat erratic hot water!) but there was a nice range of toiletries and excellent lighting for a hotel. The buffet breakfast was plentiful but, as we were there for the duration of the Olympics, it lacked variety after a few days. The little rooftop pool was very pleasant and staff were most obliging about bringing coffees and snacks to us there. The hotel is only a few minutes from Uruguaiana metro station and within easy walking distance of the attractive Olympic Boulevard waterside area. It's also very close to the modern tram line so public transport was great. There are plenty of small eateries and food stalls nearby and the whole area was constantly filled with people, music, noise, fun events ... but maybe this had something to do with the fact that the Olympics were on'!
"Excellent city centre Hotel"
I have stayed in this hotel many times and it is an excellent all round Hotel for business or pleasure it is close enough to walk to many places and an easy taxi ride or bus journey to other main attractions
I've been in that hotel 2 times. Last time i spent 2 weeks there during the Carnival. I liked almost everything :good conditions ,delicious food in the restaurant and pleasant people. People from reception can explain where is the nearest nice bar and some places where you can spent a nice time😊If you need exchange money it's on the corner. But in the evening is closed. There is swimming pool on the upper floor But its without cooling system and in summer time water is hot.
