"Beautiful Barcelona. "
Took my girlfriend here for our anniversary. I wanted to spoil her with romance so I chose to stay in jacuzzi suite. Lads if you want to spoil your girlfriend then this is the hotel/room for you. The hotel room is stunning. The jacuzzi is a very good touch. The room is decent sized with a large bathroom area. The bed is comfy and soft and pillows are good too. So many hairdos have poor pillows, but they didn't disskpiont. We was greeted in our room with a chilled bottle of champagne which is included in the room. We had access to the 15th lounge which is stocked up with chilled drinks and beers aswel as wine and champagne. It was also accompanied by small nibbles and fruit. With a large terraced area it was nice to go and chill and relax in the mornings and evening after exploring the city. The room does need some touch ups like the hinges on the door to the shower. Some scrapes and tears in the paint and wood work but that's it I'm being really picky. Overall the room is stunning and you won't be disappointed. The hotel staff are very friendly and helpful they couldn't do enough for me and my partner. The breakfast was also good with plenty of variety. Champagne too! Chocolate fountains, cooked meats, croissants cooked foods and plenty more! The spa is also as good as the rest of the hotel. Large jacuzzi/ pool area, I read reviews that it had a weird smell which is True but nothing to revolting. Steam room could be hotter. The sauna was not hot at all which was disappointing. Gym was well equipped and had everything for a good work out. The hotel is quite far out of the centre but easy access with the tram, do not get onit with out a ticket you will be fined 50 euro per person as me and partner found out! Taxis are around 15-20 euro to the centre depending on where you want to go. Overall the hotel did not disappoint, the staff are very helpful and made me feel very welcome. I would definitely return to this hotel in future.
"Almost less than Zero "
Well located, but still 40 minutes walking from the center. Don't get fooled by the the Seaview promise ..it is far away and not too romantic because of the construction all around. We took this hotel mainly for the pool and wellness. They could mentioned the pool being small and almost below celcius. We took 1 dive anyway, since we also swim in the North Sea in the winter and we are no pussies. But this pool temperature was like torture. The wellness is kind of dirty and smells bad, especially the Turkish one. Also "they forgot " to tell us that we had free access to the lounge on the 15th floor with unlimited beverages, yes free alcohol! This would have slightly make up for the disappointing wellness. Anyway after some complains we got free breakfast, which was kind of good, but definitely not worth 20 Eu. Resumed : nice rooms for a business trip. Forget about the seeview and wellness, just go straight to the 15th floor lounge and drink enough vodka & champagne to feel good about this hotel. Otherwise just take a romantic hotel in the center.
I stayed here over the weekend during a weekend to Barcelona for my boyfriends 30th birthday. I had emailed the hotel before our arrival requesting some items for his bday. Unfortunately the cake was delivered the day before his bday b mistake. Although I was disappointed that the surprise was ruined, at least they were kind enough to honour my request in the 1st place. We stayed in an executive level room which gave us access to the 15th lounge and spa. The 15th lounge was great - although we had to get the key fob reset daily as it kept locking us out. The free drinks and snacks on tap are a great idea. The views from the lounge terrace are fab. We used the spa shortly which was nice - we didn't have any treatments. The breakfast was good. Lots of choice and well worth the money. We didn't use the restaurant located in the hotel. Overall the hotel is lovely, the staff were very friendly and accommodating. The room was very comfortable - I didn't mind the see thorough glass from the bathroom to the bed as I was with my boyfriend but I can imagine if you were sharing with children/friends it wouldn't be ideal. I would definitely stay here again. We thoroughly enjoyed our weekend here. Thank you.
"Tired hotel needs updating"
I stayed at Diagonal Zero while attending a conference. My first impression was positive - reception is nice and the staff were friendly. When I first got to the room it looked ok, but as my stay progressed I noticed how dated the room was and how it needs modernising. Firstly the lights and heating is controlled by a touch panel, but the touch panel is very temperamental and not at all like using a smart phone or tablet. It was very frustrating to use and made it difficult to make minor adjustments. Secondly the shower seemed to have two settings, cool or scolding hot. Again, it was very difficult to make minor adjustments to find a comfortable setting in-between. Third - whilst the wifi was free and the speed was ok (not great, just ok) the connection drops as soon as you lock your device, so you have to go back through the process of connecting each time. Very irritating. As for the food I had room service in the evening and the menu is limited and not particularly exciting. The breakfast has a lot of choice although the quality wasn't the best. Finally - on check out they managed to overcharge me. They spotted the mistake and refunded the difference, but I was surprised that they'd charged my credit card before I'd checked out (they did take a pre-authorisation at check in). That's not something I recall experiencing at other hotels and delayed checking out.
"Worst nightmare ever"
"Modern" computerized air conditioning doesn't work at all and you could freeze in the middle of the night. Changing the room doesn't help much. Smart" elevators or "smart" lighting don't work either. No connection with the room service for an hour and should have walk to the desk reception. If you want to experience what happens in a crazy future world when electronics and robots stop working for you and there's no more humans to help - go there. Otherwise this is a place to avoid in Barcelona!
