"NOT PET FRIENDLY "
This is the 3rd visit to the hotel we looked on tripadvisor for a room Friday 4 November for 2 people 62 pounds so with exchange rate approx70 euro we phoned hotel as I am disabled and we have a small dog we were quoted 90 euro including breakfast I went down first and sat in the bar area where we have sat with the dog on the last 2 visits which is well away from food being served my wife came down with our dog which they have charged 20 euro for then a very rude receptionist came over to tell us our dog was not allowed I stated that we had sorted it with the manager 2 years ago she still argued so I got angry and said we were leaving we paid 90 euro cash and knocked of the parking charge as we did not have breakfast you were lucky to get that we will never return it is like saying you allow children but they must stay in the room make your mind up who and wot you won't in your hotel oh and maybe get your carpets cleaned and your staff training
"Great location and service"
If you ever visit Burgos, you must stay at Hotel Silken Gran Teatro. The hotel has very spacious rooms, perfect if you travel with children, it was our situation. Location is excellent, just a five minute walk from the heart of the city and the catedral. Rooms are also clean and comfortable, and have natural lightning. The TV in the room is a little bit small, but enough. We didn't have breakfast included in our room rate, but this is no problema since there are lots of cafés nearby. Service and staff are very kind and respectful. You also have a fitness center if you need to practise some sport!
"Great location in Burgos"
Our room was clean and modern. The bathroom is somewhat difficult to use, especially the shower. The door doesn't seal well, so the floor was quite wet at the end of a very fast shower. Plenty of storage though in the bathroom. We were on the street side so it was somewhat noisy during the day, but a uieted down after 9pm. The parking garage is a little scary getting into, but we liked the fact that our car was out of the elements and safe.
The hotel is centrally located with plenty of bars and restaurants nearby. The town has some good shops and if you want a walk, there are parks and a pretty riverside walk. Travelling as a member of a coach party was a disadvantage as far as the hotel was concerned. The bedroom was dismal, had a big stain on the carpet and overlooked the lift. Our party was allocated a separate room for breakfast with different food to that served in the main restaurant. On our last morning the toaster was missing but a few slices of bread had been pre-toasted and laid cold on the buffet. When requested, the toaster was returned from the room down the hall! Also when requested, staff did provide sachets of honey but I wouldn't normally expect to have to ask for these items in a four star hotel.
"Good hotel however nothing to make it outstanding."
This hotel was very convenient for the town which seemed to be very much valued by the local community.Car parking at the hotel is incredibly tight - we have a small family car [Hyundai i20] and it was incredibly tight trying to park. We were advised we had been upgraded to a 'superior room'. To be honest if this was a superior room I dread to think what the standard room was like. The accommodation was fine just not including those things one would expect to be standard in a 4* hotel. Would probably stay here again, if I could not find something else at a reasonable price. The night we arrived there was a medieval fair going on and the following morning what seemed to be a bake-in for parents and children. It really did seem to be a town which has lots going on and endeavours to be be inclusive of its people. So, would definitely recommend spending at least a few days in this lovely town.
