"Good Location, Nice Hotel"
I stayed at this hotel during a business trip in February. From the airport it takes about 10 to 15 minutes by cab at a flat 30 Euros. The hotel is more of an art deco hotel and the entrance is a bit unusual and you get to choose the décor of your room/floor at check in. I chose a room on a higher floor as I thought this would reduce the noise from the busy street. The receptionists were very helpful and the check in was very quick and efficient. The room was modern and well equipped though I though I read there was a pants press which there was not nor was there an iron though I suspect I could have gotten one from the desk. Breakfast was included with a large assortment of both continental and hot breakfast offerings in their buffet. It is about two blocks from the local underground (subway) and about 5 to 6 blocks from a main subway terminal. Taxi into city center cost about 10 Euros. Only complaint I have is that as people were leaving their rooms in the morning you could hear their doors closing otherwise this is a very good hotel for all types of travel to Madrid. There is also a small gym on the roof as well as a small pool and a night club (great views!!) This is a small item but I asked if they could open the gym 15 minutes earlier in the morning as I had some meetings which they said was no problem and though I was there and waited, no one turned up.
"A funky hotel "
The friendliness of the staff was amazing, they were happy to help with all of our questions. The hotel is situated close the the underground so to move around the city was easy. Some fab local restaurants situated behind the hotel for breakfast and dinner. The room was very clean and extremely modern, my partner and I had a great 3 night stay. Thank you
"White floor/suite amazinng"
We selected this hotel for its uniqueness and modernness. We requested the suite on the white floor (different color floors) and got it. My fiancé had an orchid and fresh fruit delivered to the room on arrival and the hotel Provided water and chocolates too. The staff was attentive and our room was very clean. At times it felt like we were sleeping in an ice cave- lots of fun! We had dinner in the hotel restaurant and had drinks at the sky Bar on the 13th floor and drinks on the first floor in the second bar too. Everything from the service to the food and alcohol was delicious! If you are looking for something different and can appreciate architecture then this is a great hotel. Also it is only a short cab ride from the historic district and touristy attractions.
"Business stay Madrid"
The Silken is a modern looking inside and outside. Staff are friendly across the team. The rooms are large clean and again have that science mode touch in that you have to push buttons to open curtains etc. The location is just outside the city centre so a taxi is required but there are good local restaurants within a 1k walk. The bar offers a good selection of wines and basic bar food. In reality it's a city business hotel and not what I would say is a holiday staying place if one wants to be nearer the centre.
"In love with architecture"
If you like architecture and interior design. This hotel is made for you. A special tribute for Zaha Hadid rooms. In love. Every level is designed by an other architect. Some of the greatest architects.
