"A lovely hotel in the city"
We stayed at the Sofitel for 2 nights prior to our Antarctica adventure. The rate was included in our package, so I can't comment on value for the money, but we loved it. We had a nice corner room that was spacious by this hotel's standards. It was quiet (overlooking the street), clean and nicely appointed. Although there were no coffee or tea making items, we asked for a hot water kettle at reception and it was delivered promptly, along with cups and spoons. We had our own supplies and it was nice to have that first cup before facing the world. We ate at the "library" bar on our first night. DH had a pizza that was enormous (we should have just shared it) and had tons of tomatoes and arugula -kind of a salad pizza. I had a Croque Monsieur (sp) with fried and supplemented it with some of DH's arugula. It was inexpensive ($10 for each after the currency conversion) and so were the beer and wine. A very nice breakfast spread was included in our rate, but it was part of our tour package. I don't know what the regular breakfast would cost. The staff were great - friendly and helpful. We tend to stick to Starwood properties because we have loads of points with them, but we would otherwise be happy to stay at the Sofitel again.
A tour booked this hotel. Five star. Had the absolutely best bed I've ever had in a hotel. Beautiful, had a gym, charming bar for drinks and snacks, good breakfast. Concierge was very helpful in arranging a private birding tour for me.
"Very nice boutique hotel in BA"
We stayed here, because our tour company (A&K) had made arrangements for us to be here before we left for our cruise. Although we did elect to extend our stay here both before and after the cruise was over. This hotel is very nice - lovely restaurant and bar area, very good albeit expense food and really first class rooms. All of the staff at the front desk spoke very good English (and French too, for the most part) and all of them were exceptionally helpful to a couple of Americans who didn't know their way around BA at all. The neighborhood felt safe too - this is a huge consideration while in BA. Any downsides' Yes, it was expensive by my standards, at something over $350 per night for a basic room. There is not a lot to do near the hotel, but enough if you are just passing through. This hotel is in an area about 40min from the Int'l (EZE) airport, however it's only 12 - 15min from the smaller, mostly domestic airport (AEP). Other than the cost, I'd have absolutely no hesitations about returning to the Sofitel in BA in the future - and it was nice enough that I'd certainly consider other Sofitel hotels around the world, based on the stay here.
"Good Buenos Aires hotel"
Nice hotel! Staff was great. Took care of a problem we had in a very short time. Room was small but comfortable. Food in bar and restaurant was excellent. Centrally located. Able to walk to many tourist sights.
Beautiful, calm, luxurious! The staff is very comprehensive for any need you may have during your stay. The best part of the hotel is the ´Circuito de Aguas´. Different saunas, showers and a peaceful place.
