"Strategically placed for business travellers"
Great hotel, especially when travelling on business - perfect levels of service for the business traveler. Very courteous & helpful staff. As this was my first trip to Montreal (and it coincided with inclement weather), the staff went out of their way to help find good weekend spots to hang out.
My friend and I had a beautiful experience at this hotel in early march. A real design hotel with outstanding staff. Rooms are outstanding. All is set to offer upscale comfort. WIFI is fast. Location is perfect.
"Wonderful Hotel in Old Montreal"
I stayed at Hotel St Paul for 2 nights at the beginning of March. I gave them a try since they are now part of SPG and I got agreeably surprised. Staff was so attentive to our requests and reminded me how I like the approach from a boutique hotel (more personalized). Lobby is colorful with a gorgeous and enormous fireplace and my room was spacious with a terrific view on Old Montreal. You cannot be wrong when choosing St. Paul, right in Old Montreal next to everything and couple blocks from downtown. So, if you are like me a SPG member, give St. Paul a try… you will be charmed as well.
Decided last minute to take a trip to Montreal for a few days during March Break. Had originally called the Westin but the price was not in our budget so the Westin staff said he could book us into the "sister " hotel - the St. Paul. The St. Paul is a boutique type hotel in a great location on rue St. Paul. Right in Old Town Montreal. It has a restaurant on sight but we did not try it. We were very happy with the room size and the view - Habitat and the river. Front desk staff were very friendly and the doorman was particularly helpful with directions and suggestions. There were a few hiccups. When we got to our room, none of the lights worked. I thought we were without power. This required a call to the front desk only to find that if you put your key (card) in this holder near the door, the lights then all work. Taking your key out turns everything off. A great energy saver and reminder to take your key with you, but couldn't the check-in person have told us that when she gave us the keys' Also, the only literature in the room related to the hotel was the dining menu. Nothing about other amenities or nearby restaurants or attractions. So again, a call to the front desk to ask about ice. Not ice machines so you have to request a bucket of ice. The other disappointment was the noise the doors make when closing. Even when you let the door close on it's own, it sounds like someone has slammed it shut. Needless to say this was a little disappointing since you were totally aware when ever your neighbours left or entered their rooms. The décor in the room was nice but why wouldn't you have two comfortable chairs for TV watching. There was more than enough room to add another chair. I was not impressed with housekeeping. The floor in the bathroom didn't seem the cleanest when we first got there and was not touched on the second day either. Our bathmat was left exactly in the same spot we had left it in the morning. So the floor was not cleaned. It also seemed like the vanity had not been touched either. A little disappointing when you are paying that kind of money.
"Fantastic accommodations "
Lovely boutique hotel in old Montreal. Walking distance to nice restaurants. Beds are unbelievably comfortable. Staff is very friendly and helpful when it comes to suggesting restaurants for breakfast or dinner. Will stay again next time I have to go to Montreal.
