Check in was fast and easy. When we went inside our room, the smell of bleach or clorox was too strong it was nauseating. Called the front desk if they have another room available and within 10 mins. one of the staff came by with the room key. Placed us to another floor. Room is very small. Bathroom is huge. The hardwares they use in the bathroom needs some serious cleaning.
The hotel is very clean the staff is verry charming, really no inconvenience in this wonderful hotel. Nice gym verry clean with some snacks and cold water. The rooms are very well designed. Would recommend this to all ages.
"Great Hotel in Old Montreal"
We discovered the Hotel St. Paul upon a recommendation from a business associate (we needed a new hotel in Montreal). From my first stay here several years ago to my most recent, two weeks ago, I have always had a great experience at this hotel. The location is convenient, the employees are excellent, and the rooms are very nice. I don`t usually have a lot of success sleeping well on the road but always seem to sleep well at the Hotel St. Paul.
"Great Service, But Expected More From Design Hotel"
I reserved two nights in a Jr. Suite. The hotel is very pretty and the service was great. Front desk staff super helpful, great gym. It lost some major points because of the room service. We landed at 10 PM so we weren't going to be going out for dinner. We ordered room service and while tasty there was little value there. My wife and I split half a dozen oysters which were moderately priced, but they only had one sauce with them and no lemon. Brought up ontop of our hot food they were not chilly. The rest of the meal was ok. My wifes charcuterie looked very good. My burger was good. The best thing about it was the fact it was a real patty. They didn't cook it the medium I asked for, the "fries" were just wedges and there was 4 of them on the plate. They didn't send any condiments up with the food. Frankly, I didn't complain about anything because it was the first night of what was to be a romantic weekend away, it would have been a bad omen, but for $130 for dinner it was a disappointment. The other thing is, there was no mention on how to get your dishes picked up. The hotel it self was very cute and cozy, great bed, nice big room great service. I am not sure I would stay again. I have stayed at a few "design" hotels and this was the least appealing.
Stayed in St Pauls for a business trip. We were upgraded to a junior suite when we checked in. Great views from the room of the river. Staff were very helpful. would definitely stay here again and would recommend to anyone. Its in the perfect location to visit old Montreal and there a number of great restaurants within walking distance.
