"Nice hotel, but I barely slept..."
First up some positives. The staff were terrific, couldn't do enough for you, great location and the room touches are nice. But whereas they have spent a fortune on design, the soundproofing is terrible. My room was on the first floor, and all night there was banging, cleaners, lord knows who, but if you can't sleep, a hotel can't be a great hotel. Added to this, the bed was 2 singles, with single sheets (I was alone), a bright fire alarm flashed every 5 seconds directly above me (I mean I get safety, but...) and because the room was small, the beds were small too, my feet hung off the end (I am 6 feet). So there is a lot to like about this hotel, but fundamentals let it down. And they really need to address the noise. You can't pay €300 in Madrid in November and not sleep.
"Excellent boutique luxury hotel"
Really lovely, modern, luxury boutique hotel. Has all you need and staff only too happy to help including setting the TV downstairs in the guest lounge for us to watch the Rugby World cup final. Definitely on the pricey side compared to nice places we stayed in Barcelona and Santiago de Compostela but then it is Madrid so people staying here would probably expect it. Definitely a really lovely place to stay and right in Salamanca where all the luxury shopping is which was fun for us.
Highly recommended. Ideal situation. Decoration and settings at the top. Attentive personnel. Luxe but not bling bling and not old fashioned 5 stars hotel. Service outstanding. Small garden for quiet breakfast
the hotel is loceted on a very nice elegant and quiet street.the rooms are not to big but very comfortable/. stuff was always very kind (you have a two michlian stars restorant in the hotel-just book on time) We'll be back!
"book the restaurant"
The restaurant Ramon Freixa was brilliant - it's a taster menu with or without wines - and was super. The hotel is very friendly and efficient - would stay again, and have a courtyard room. The breakfast was particularly good with lots to choose from and a pleasant room.
