Our unique hotel awaits you right on Madrid’s Golden Mile. It is housed in a 19th-century palace which was transformed into this luxurious 44-room boutique hotel. Our "unique" hotel awaits you right on Madrid's "Golden Mile".
Its elegant façade conceals a regal interior architecture with modern rooms that boast high ceilings and large windows.
An exclusive spacious yet tranquil inner garden-courtyard, with a pleasant open-air lounge area, gives access to the restaurant RAMON FREIXA MADRID which has quickly become a "must" in the city, having been awarded 2 Michelin stars and named "Best Restaurant in Madrid" at the prestigious Madrid Fusión event. Such distinctions honour, exceptional presentation, sophisticated table service, an extensive wine list, and high quality with an ongoing quest for excellence make for a uniquely luxurious "gastro experience" in the Spanish capital. Ramon Freixa also orchestrates Único's superb signature breakfasts.
Respect for the building's elegance, shown, for example, in its stately main staircase and the marble mosaics in its public areas, coexist with the absolute quality of its spacious rooms in which warm, neutral colours make our guests feel as if they were staying in one of the aristocratic private residences of the upscale district of Salamanca, where it is indeed located.
The hotel also has several salons overlooking the garden or Calle Claudio Coello which beckon guests to take a break from the lure of expeditions in Madrid's foremost shopping district.
A modern fitness centre and an extensive range of massages in The Wellness Suite round out the splendid offer of what, despite the apparent cliché, is a true urban oasis. The hotel also has a large guest car park.

Set on the city's most opulent axis, where the recently revamped Serrano, Ortega y Gasset and Claudio Coello streets meet.
Shops selling the most exclusive Spanish and international brands are within a stone's throw of the hotel. What's more, one can stroll through the Retiro Park, take in the leading museums or visit the most important financial centres of the metropolis. If you wish to enjoy the city’s varied cultural offer or its historic centre, they are only a few minutes away.

Hotel Unico is an excellent choice; great facilities, great location and great service! In addition, it counts with a one star Michelin located in it's facilities. It's close to the city centre, Museums shopping and parks You can't go wrong!

"good hotel"

well this expensive hotel is well located in salamanca barrio , nice resturants arround, service is the best, i have asked numerous times from room service and it arrived in a minute however 2 major issues prevent it to be my 5 stars mark. expensive breakfast at 26 euro one should expect much more varaity etc acoustics in the rooms is very bad , if someone next door is closing his door you feel earth is moving. and walls are thin. other than this it was PERFECT we were celebarting our 30 years of marrige hotel did not even put drinks, chocolad etc ofir

"Prime location and excellent service"

Well-located amidst boutique shops, about 10 minutes from the Metro and within walkable distance to most attractions (Prado, Thyssen, Reina Sofia, Gran Via, etc.), Hotel Unico was an oasis of serenity and quiet until guests in adjacent rooms allowed their children to run freely in the hallway and slam doors upon entry or exit. The walls were pretty thin; conversations were muffled but clearly audible. The staff were courteous, professional and efficient. The room, although a little smallish, had high ceilings and a simple, uncluttered look that was tasteful and soothing. The bed was quite comfortable, and the many pillows offered differing densities and support levels. The shower contraption took a few tries to get the right spray at the right temperature. The breakfast on the garden terrace was well-stocked with delectable bites. I highly recommend the whole-grain croissants and the tortilla de patatas. Eggs, omelettes, pancakes and other breakfast items on the à la carte menu were also included as part of the breakfast. I found the eggs a tad greasy, the sausage of interesting texture, and the mushrooms delicious. Cappuccinos were strong, foamy and much appreciated first thing in the morning! The restaurant staff were friendly and helpful even if they did't always understand initially our requests in English. The only negative about eating on the terrace was being down-wind from the smoking patrons. The hotel lounge/bar offered water, juice, pastries and fruits available all day. The hotel just have a really calm vibe, clean and orderly in feel, and excellent staff to round out the pleasant experience. Now, if only the guests could be said of the same...

"Good hotel in fantastic location"

We stayed 3 nights at Hotel Unico a couple of weeks ago. For me, the location is the best thing - surrounded by great restaurants and bars and easy to get around Madrid. We had a garden room which was smaller than I was expecting - and we did hear our neighbours closing the wardrobe doors and moving the bed on a couple of mornings (esp. the ones above us) which was a bit annoying. I sort of agree with some of the earlier comments around 5-star boutique hotels. The check-in was slick and everything you expect, but the check-out was rather clumsy and felt rather rushed. I would have liked someone to ask how we had found our stay. The concierge chap at the front of the hotel was super friendly.

"Excellent Hotel in Madrid"

Loved it, it was a great location, hotel is perfect in every detail except one ( rooms are too dark) if you can manage try to ask for a room which gets some light in. Great location from the heart of the city it is really only 6-7 Euro cab ride away however we used the number 51 and 19 busses to get everywhere. Most of the good shopping in the city is walking distance and even if you are not a shopper just walking around salamanca is so much fun. for the price you are paying I would definetly recommend this hotel in Madrid to everyone.
