"Very romantic "
This is a romantic place to stay. You must be able to handle the bugs. Some reviews say they can't control it. Well yes they can! If they design the doors and windows to properly shut and close the bugs would have a tough time getting in. Unfortunately the windows and doors have large cracks so the bugs get in. I just prayed whatever kept leaving large droppings on my porch wouldn't get in. They have no English Speaking channels. The waters on the resort need major cleaning. The atmosphere itself is still really nice. I didn't eat breakfast. Flies covered the food. They have an enclosed room but it's full of flies and they have baskets over some of the food but the baskets have holes so either way it's flies on all of the food. They say the whole island is this way and even if they are right I still wouldn't eat the fly covered food, fruits and pastries. To my surprise no one else seemed to mind. Since it's a pousada it doesn't have room service but they have a kitchen on location so that helps. I walked to second beach when necessary and they also offer a shuttle.
"Very disrespectful management."
Very poor and rude management. Didn´t seen any mosquitoes on the island but literally a swarm in my room every night, definitely something wrong with management of the grounds / buildings. Requested new bug spray on 3 occasions and they never delivered! Security was exceptionally rude to my girlfriend when I tried to check her in late one night, despite warning front desk she would be checking in late and leaving her name on the room. Wouldn´t let her in the hotel, felt accused of bringing a one night stand home or worse. In the morning the manager had the audacity to approach us at breakfast in front of all the other guests, humiliating my girlfriend and showing zero respect. Despite the fact that we rented 4 rooms at crazy carnival prices and stayed there the year before. Finally, they were unwilling to transfer my friends room into another friends name, he paid for 3 nights as part of a package and had to leave after 2, they were unwilling to let another friend use the third night which he had paid for or even allow them to the pool area as a compromise. Beautiful hotel and location, worst management I have ever encountered. This is my first ever review of a hotel anywhere! Zero stars. Stay at Minha Louca Paixao, where I moved to after 3 nights, amazing hotel and respectful staff.
"Relaxing and well location "
We just spent 4 nights in this place. Location is amazing, just at the beginning of 4a Praia. Walking distance from the 2a Praia where all restaurants are located, shuttle service available in the evening when tides is too high to allow walking. Service is very friendly and rooms are big and comfortable, with nice private amaca to relax on. Also breakfast is good, a lot of choices between sweet and salty options. We didn't try the restaurant and that was a pity, mainly the swimming pool one looked very interesting. If we will go back to Morro one day, we'll go back in this place for sure!
"Great place to stay in Morro de Sao Paulo"
We booked Villa Dos Corais at the last minute because we were not sure if we were going to Morro de Sao Paulo. We were very happy we chose this place and that they had availability because it provided the perfect beach break from a busy Brazil trip. The grounds are fantastic - right on the beach, huge pool, great service, lots of things to do on the grounds (ping pong, billiards, volleyball) and great location. The breakfast is also fantastic. Initially, we weren't sure how far it was from one beach to the next but we found Villa Dos Corais to be in one of the best areas - it's a short walk to Beach 2 where the restaurants and nightlife start but quiet and close to Beach 3 & 4 which are chilled out. One night, we had dinner on Beach 2 and walked home along the beach (it was a full moon) and it only took us 12 minutes. There is a shuttle for the hotel that runs between the taxi spot near Beach 2 and hotel - very convenient and reliable - especially when you arrive and are leaving. The rooms are clean and modern - the A/C works well and the room is laid out well. The only thing that could be improved is to provide mosquito netting for ALL the beds in the room. We are a family of 3 and our 14-year old slept on a twin bed without mosquito netting and woke up the following morning with bites. Our bed had netting and we were fine. Even though the room is pretty sealed, we kept seeing mosquito's here and there. Not a lot of them, but enough to be an annoyance. I don't fault the hotel - this is probably an issue everywhere on the island. In terms of getting to Morro de Sao Paulo, we took the high speed catamaran there from Salvador and (because the wind was picking up on our return) we took the ferry-bus-ferry option back to Salvador. The ferry-bus-ferry option is longer but it is well organized and if the seas are rough, I would recommend it. One thing I would HIGHLY recommend is to not bring a lot of luggage. We were able to leave our suitcases at our hotel in Salvador and just had a backpack each for me and my son and my wife had a small suitcase. You do not want to bring a lot - flip flops, shorts, bathing suit... the island is casual - no need for dressy clothes. Because we were flying out of Salvador on the same day we were leaving Morro de Sao Paulo, we were able to arrange to have a taxi in Salvador pick up our luggage that we left behind in our hotel in Salvador (which was in the Barra area), meet us at the ferry terminal in Salvador when we arrived and take us directly to the airport. This saved us a bunch of time - we took a 10:30 ferry out of Morro de Sao Paulo and were at the airport around 2:30PM.
"Better is impossible"
On the Beach with a refined atmosphere, at a confortable walking distance from Morro de São Paulo city. The rooms are situated in small villas of 2 floors with 4 apartments. My room was very spacious with a surprising architectural solution dividing the sleeping area from the bathroom. The bed was great with a mosquito netting. The bathroom was very well equipped. The view of the beach was amazing. The breakfast was served al fresco and it was delicious with lots of tropical fruits. The staff was very attentive and always willing to help. Believe it is the best hotel in Morro de Sao Paulo
