"Our Madrid hotel"
We go often to Spain and hadn't found "our Madrid hotel" until we stayed at Villa Magna!Location location location! Our room was well appointed, superior, large and with a good a/c! Breakfast buffet has to be nice to pass my inspection... this one does! It is a very nice, complete breakfast with quality cheese, smoked salmon, breads and pastries to mention only a few items. Afternoon tea on the terrace and being right next door to El Corte Ingles and Calle Serrano is the best! We search no more!
"Beautiful room, great staff"
Our family of 6 came for a several day visit between Christmas and New Years. The hotel is just as described - grand and stately. It's also updated and nicely appointed in the rooms. We had 3 rooms - the junior suite faced the street, a decided upgrade from facing a back building facade that was the fate of our other two deluxe rooms. The morning breakfast was a plus. A lavish spread for a continental b'fast. Well worth adding to the room. The small gym area was okay for us. The sauna was a plus and a nice way of ending the sightseeing day. The beds, pillows, linens, were perfect. The biggest plus was the staff. The friendly front desk reception arranged an early check in when we arrived on Dec. 26th. Antonio was a complete delight as a concierge. At one of the busiest times of the year they arranged some excellent restaurant choices. They made our stay terrific. This is a big hotel, so if charm and intimacy is your thing, then the Villa Magna is probably not your first choice. For us, the location, the included breakfast and the staff were just right.
"Very friendly "
My husband and I really enjoyed our stay at Hotel Villa Magna! The staff was very friendly and helpful. We received an upgraded room as we booked through Virtuoso. The room was beautiful and spacious. Location is great and there is a taxi stand in front of hotel so you never have to wait for a taxi. We really enjoyed having a supermercado across the way and had nice drinks and jamon at the bar there. This hotel is highly recommended!
"Not quite international 5+ star but very good "
Hotel is in a grand old but well kept style. Rooms are recently refurbished. Great location. Excellent F&B. Only let down is spa facilities but apparently new owners plan to rebuild these. Well worth a visit. Significant step up from ME Madrid which is terrible.
I travel a lot. I have been to most big cities in the world. Staying at Villa Magna is the type of visits in a place that makes me say: search no more!!! This is not my first or last time to Madrid. I love this city and I will return. Therefore I'm glad I found a PERFECT hotel in that city which will be from now my hotel in Madrid. Everything in this hotel was perfect. From arrival, room size (junior suite), bed, food, location(!!!) and an exceptional service!!! Here are a couple of examples: One day the cleaner mistankley took my nightwear together with the sheets from bed (they are human beings, it can happen). When I came back and couldn't find it I called room service. They checked, found it and brought it over- clean, folded and sealed in a plastic bag like new!!!! And all that within less than 10 minutes. The hotel manager called me personally to apologize and to make sure everything is good. On the day of departure there was a running race in Madrid and the boulevard in front of the hotel was closed. The hotel clearly gave a notice to us that we should expect that and suggested an advance reserved taxi. When we came down to the taxi the concierge came to us and personally carried our luggage two streets up to our taxi!!! Service at this hotel is exceptional by all means!!! This should be the service-school for every 5 star hotel in the world. Wow!!!
