"What a view"
We spent a lovely weekend in this place! English style hotel with one of the best view in Taormina. It's just stunning and staff has been so welcoming and always available for us. Miss Claudia is the manager there and she is impeccable! Highly recommend !
"The hotel is definitely not four stars even two would be generous!"
This hotel is overpriced and doesn't deliver what it says in it's the advertising. There was no hot water on the first day. The hot water tap had to be left on for 30 minutes before you could shower that was only available in the mornings. We were looking forward to using the swimming pool but told we could not use it. The staff were helpful but there was very little they could do make our stay more comfortable.
"Do not be mislead by 4 Star rating"
I originally posted a harsh review but had it removed when fault was rectified. Well I can tell you I shoould have left it up. I feel sorry for the staff because theyy are the frontline and management is hiding behind them. Should four star hotels have peeling wallpaper, dirty ceilings, squashed mosquitoes on the wall, wifi only in a dark dingy corner behind reception, no glasses in bathrooms, no hotwater on demand, no ironingor laundry facilities on the premises, located a short dangerous walk on the busiest lane (width does not qualify it for a street) to Taormina's main street, dirty pool, scungy tennis court. Well this hotel has all the above and is rated 4 star. I did not book this hotel, my travel agents supplier said I was upgraded from my original hotel. I looked forward to it but it has been a nightmare. Management is nowhere to be seen only the receptionists, one of which has only been here 3 days.I feel sorry for them. Do yourselves a favour...do nit book this hotel.
"It was ok!"
The benefits of this hotel is that it's right in the centre of Taormina as well as the helpful staff. If I'm not mistaken her name is Claudia ! She is extremely hard working and dedicated to her job. She helped us with everything and anything that we needed. The downside to this hotel are the rooms...now to be fair we didn't choose This hotel, it was given to us as a gift so I wouldn't have chosen this hotel if I had to book again because of the environment. (It isn't my style). Personally I believe that the rooms do need a good refurbishment even though is it in a baroque style however they should add a bit of modern to that baroque style. Unfortunately our room was a bit too old since the bathroom door didn't close, the painting of the wall was coming off, and it was also a bit dirty...its a pity if the owners do not do their best to fix up the hotel since the view from the hotel is beautiful and it's right in the centre. I apologise for the slightly bad review however I feel that I should be honest and give both the negative and positive side to this hotel!
"Excellent position and view. Kind and helpful staff. It's worth it!"
The hotel is situated 50 meters far from one of the two main gates of Taormina historical center (that's basically a 1km street called "Corso Umberto" that branchs off in some other smaller alley), but in the same time it's built on a cliff so you have full open view of whole Taormina sea bay on the other side. Internal furniture is classic / antiques with some masterpiece around. Rooms are clean and there's an automatic shutter that allows you to darken the bedroom for the night. Staff highly professional, kind and helpful. The manager is always available to accommodate your needs, as well the owner is belonging to one of the most well-established families in Taormina, so I received perfect suggestions about where to hang around, eat and have fun.
