The Hotel Villa San Pio was born from the union of three villas that gather around the oasis of beautiful romantic garden.
The villas were inspired by Mediterranean plants and architectural elements from art nouveau, including a charming gazebo where guests can have breakfast surrounded by a pleasant smell and color camellias and wisteria.
Enjoy the peaceful atmosphere of past times with homely feeling surrounded by tradition and elegance.
Staying at San Pio is perhaps the secret desire of all those who visit Rome.
It is one of the places of greater fascination of the entire city and the testimonies of ancient Rome that here are innumerable, acquire animated contours the moment the street lamps are turned on in the evening.
Stepping out of the hotel and walking through the peaceful roads of the hill, passing by the imposing Benedictine Monastery, the famous public square of the Knights of Malta is reached, where Saint Peter’s Dome can be admired through the famous keyhole of the Grand Priory of the Sovereign Military Order of Malta.
Completely restructured, it harmoniously complements modernity and antique fascination with a refined and elegant style, which is also unmistakably metropolitan and chic.

Sehr schönes Hotel in sehr guter, ruhiger VillenlageComment of U. Wolf-DIETER, Germany the 2015-07-19

"Stop scrolling and book this"
All the preceding reviews are nothing short of praises, so booking this hotel felt like a no brainer. It turned out much better than I expected. The hotel is right in the heart of Aventino, a largely residential district. The upscale type. You will hardly see any gibberish spray-painted on walls. It may feel a bit far from 'where the action is', but it isn't. Circus Maximus is a 10 to 15-minute walk away, so is the metro station. The Colosseum is just a 7 to 10-minute walk thereafter. In Aventino, don't miss the famous Knights of Malta keyhole which looks directly to St. Peter's and the garden behind Santa Sabina Church, where one, being on a hill, can look over an incomparable panorama of the entire city of Rome, with its steeples and domes. Both of them are just a 5-minute walk uphill from the hotel. The hotel itself consists of three mansions, with a small garden in between the buildings. Rooms are beautifully decorated (we had a four-posted bed), with handpainted walls and furnishings . The bathroom was spacious--with a jacuzzi--and was replenished with fancy Italian soap and shampoo everyday. The room assigned to us was on the mezzanine with its own access (a marbled flight of stairs) and a balcony facing the garden (or rather a bust of Padre Pio, which is a plus if you're Catholic I guess). Breakfast was superb all throughout. Selection was extensive, with bacon. Lots of it. The breakfast area has a greenhouse extension and a balcony, just about the best two places to have breakfast. We were also given welcome drinks and the staff, from the receptionist to the housekeepers, were all kind. Agapito, the bellhop, deserves a special mention for being very helpful and showing us around the hotel. (Go to the rooftop for stunning views of Aventino at sunset when the sun rays bring out the brightest orange from the largely orange neighborhood). The hotel is inexpensive, especially since there are worse hotels at the same price point. This one is top notch. If you want to feel good about a hotel choice, this is definitely the one to book.
We are currently still here and fly home in the morning so thought I would write this. The hotel is lovely so beautiful, the rooms are just as nice. The rooms come with a mini fridge (stocked) yes a little bit more expensive but who cares your away. The staff are 100% it's my partners bday and they brought us prosseco up 2 our room while wishing him a happy birthday. The breakfast here is lovely just what you need to set the day up. The gardens here are beautiful and would love to come in the summer to take full advantage. Would certainly recommend and will certainly be back.
This was such a quaint romantic hotel, situated a short 5min walk from tram and bus lines that lead you to various places around Rome. Very friendly and welcoming staff and a pleasant warm atmosphere in general. At the cost of only 60 euros per night this place was really a bargain, we loved the style of the room. The only disadvantage was that the bed was not particularly soft and the walls were a little thin so you could hear people about the halls toward the evenings. Beautiful gardens, great neighbourhood. My boyfriend even proposed to me on the bridge not far from the hotel! The buffet breakfast was good as well, lovely little pastries filled with nutella, jam or plain as well as a good variety of eggs, bacon, fruit, hams, cakes, tarts. The breakfast was open until 10:30 though I believe you could pay to extend that time to eat later. All in all would absolutely recommend, it doesn't seem that close to the centre but it is plenty convenient enough :).
This was our 3rd stay at the Hotel Villa San Pio. We stayed for 8 nights. The hotel staff was extremely responsive, especially with assistance during the Christmas week. The breakfast is excellent and the rooms are comfortable and quiet. On several occasions, there were not enough seats available during the breakfast rush. We walked more than 72 miles during our stay, although cabs are readily available and not very expensive. The hotel will quickly order a cab upon request. The transportation to and from the airport was arranged by the hotel and very reliable. The hotel is a 30 minute walk from central Rome - but the weather was beautiful and the christmas lights were amazing. The hotel was extremely accommodating and very reasonably priced. The only down side is that the hotel does not have a restaurant on site, although they do have small bites available at the bar. There are several quality restaurants in the neighborhood, including Bucatino, which were recommended by the hotel.
"Excellent Hotel the type I like. Super Staff"
Only stayed overnight but really enjoyed our visit. Located in a quiet area on one of the seven hills of Rome, a smallish hotel, in several blocks with beautiful gardens. The staff are wonderful, pleasant, attentive and helpful. They will help you find some local restaurants away from the tourist places where locals eat. Large cold buffet breakfast with hot bacon and eggs. The bathrooms could do with a bit of updating but everything else was fine.
