"It is my home away from home in San Francisco"
Fist time I stood at the hotel when it used to be Kimpton Palomar in 2010. I am coming with my employees every your for a convention at Moscone center. I tried other hotels over the time - Mariott Marquie and Hilton Parc 55 and now realize Zelos is the best for me. I like spatious and always clean rooms and close proximity to Moscone, collection of high level restaurants, cosy coffee shops and convenient shopping at Westfield. Add to that under Zelos the fitness was improved considerably. But most important for me are the relationship I have with the service team. I trust they won't be against me calling them my friends, friendship is the closest what comes to my mind when I think of the next stay at Zelos. Matt and Richard ( bell captains ), Justine and Sara ( guest service ) greet and treat me when I arrive as my friends do at home. Even better, since they always have time and drive to help me to address my quiries or give me a good advice when it comes to where to in San Francisco. They give me the feeling I am back home when I return from a tiresome tradeshow day. They find a quiet room for me to get good refreshing night sleep. Last year I failed to get rooms booked for convention time at Zelos and stood at Hilton Parc55. On a rainy day all umbrellas at Hilton were given out. To find them I asked Matt to help and he gave me 2 umbrellas for me and my colleague. Of course, I had returned them before I left San Francisco. You can imagine how grateful I was having them when rain poured cats and dogs. In short, Zelos is a very good quality hotel with absolutely great people working at it. The reason I gave it 4 stars and five is the bathrobes. I used to enjoy plush all cotton bathrobe that was available at Kimpton Palomar. Now, they were replaced with all polyester ones that will bring you to your dermatologist with skin irritation after you wear them for half an hour. I do hope the management will take it into account and will return the old bathrobes for me to enjoy staying at Zelos not 95% but to all 100%.
"Perfect location, perfect room"
This hotel is a hidden jewel of San Francisco. The location is at the center of downtown San Francisco with many shopping area and attractions. It happens to be a Lunar New Year Parade and the parade was just next to the hotel. Room is clean and all the amenities are well prepared. Personally, I prefer soap bar but they have liquid bottle for environment. I will come again whenever I need to drop by San Francisco and would recomment the same.
"Great location - Great vibes - Great stay"
Best central location for shopping, going out and sight seeing. On Market street with Westfield Mall around the corner, and all big brand retaill at arms length. Boutique design hotel with personal service. I was delighted to be in a spacious room with a very comfortable bed. Room was on the 5th floor with DirtyHabbit bar and restaurant. They serve top notch cocktails (ask Mario for his Old Fashion!). Will recommend Zelos over ANY of the typical 5* hotels in the center.
First the good. The parking was fantastic! We dropped off our car at the front entrance, and they took it to an immaculately clean garage under the hotel. When it's time to get our car, we just went to the basement level on the elevator, and there it was! So easy! The staff were helpful. They took care of us to the best of their ability. The rooms are small. We stayed in an executive king room, which is one of the larger rooms. There wasn't enough room for a nightstand on both sides of the bed. The bathroom was right next to the bed. They allow pets in this hotel. In our case, they hadn't cleaned up very well after a pet that had stayed in our room. It was disgusting. In our room was torn carpet, dirty windows and broken fixtures. Noise is a problem at this hotel. Market and 4th Streets are very congested with cars and people. But there are street performers, too, and they love to make noise. I'm very confident that this is a regular feature of the area, having lived in San Francisco. I'm not sure a room on the interior of the hotel would be much better, as there's a restaurant & bar, called "Dirty Habit," with outdoor seating, on the 5th floor. All the rooms on the interior look out on to this restaurant. We made a mistake by choosing a hotel on Market Street. It's too gritty, and not near much that interests us. So, we walked a lot. Next time, we'll stay in the financial district, Union Square or Nob Hill.
"Clean and very convenient location to stay!"
The room was a bit small but clean and good location. The hotel staff was friendly and helpful, Ask for a market or street view room if possible otherwise the interior rooms look into rooms across the way.
