"Adequate for a few days "
Although quite old the hotel is in a good condition . Free parking just outside and 10 mins driving to the airport . For the city center it's 10-15 mins . Wi-Fi was good and free . We didn't try the kitchen as we didn't have time .
"Fine for late flight arrival"
I booked here as it was the nearest hotel to the airport with 24 hr check in and did not want a large taxi fare. As it happens the rate from the airport to Santiago is fixed! The night manager was hardly a welcoming face when we turned up at about 01.15.We waited 5 minutes while he finished his phone call. (I am sure it was an important business call at that time of night!!!) The room was clean and we got a family room even though we only booked a double. The air conditioning worked very well! We had "brunch" in the bar, which was average and served by, when we found him, what I could imagine was the night managers grumpy brother. The lady on reception, was however very friendly and helpful. The hotel is on a relatively busy road, which is good for bus services.
"Far, unfriendly staff...."
It's far from the city center, the rooms are old, the staff is not friendly and had an agressive way to ask me my room number over breakfast. Wifi was not working but the worst was that my bed was poorly made the second night. There is no outdoor area (forget about siting outside...) but a parking lot...
"Four and a half"
If I could give 4 1/2 stars I would because the only drawback of this hotel is the location. It is on a busy road, not within walking distance to the town center. For travelers with a car this may not be an issue but with 32 students and a tour bus...The rooms are adequate size and freshly redone in a minimalist fashion. Not a lot of furniture in rooms and very clean. The Lobby is comfortable and the breakfast offered has something for everyone. True the egg dishes could be hotter but the chocolate croissant makes up for it. I would stay here again.
"SERVICE TERRIBLE, BATHS VERY SLIPPY"
Located in the San Lazaro neighbourhood,10 minutes’ drive from the historic centre of Santiago, Hotel Santiago Apóstol lies at the end of the French Route of the pilgrimage. Free WiFi is available. All of the rooms are quite dated but spacious. Each room had a very small flat-screen TV. The rooms are quite dated and the bath is very slippy, and the air conditioning was blowing hot air not cold air. The food was not great, fish for started and fish for main course. This is the only hotel where we had to purchase our wine and water as all other hotels these where provided free of charge. Two staff to serve a dining room of over 100 pax, not good enough.
