"Corner room - all windows!"
I couldn't have been much more happy with the room I chose. It was a corner suite with wall to wall windows of city views. The room could have gotten a bit colder but everything was really nice. Ample plug ins, lights, etc... the bed was VERY comfortable. It was quite loud outside during the day and early night but died down when sleeping. It is downtown and right across from a hospital.
"Construction and blasé and inconvenience."
Hotel was fine. Rooms were fine. Construction out front smelled and very loud. Moved our Suite the first night to a smaller room but it was our 14 year Anniversary. I wanted to make sure our weekend was special and surprise my wife with a suite. Disappointed that our night didn't go as planned. Staff was polite.
"Shopping and Hamilton!!"
The hotel has the perfect location!! A simple walk to Michigan Avenue!! The staff was wonderful and it was nice to have a Starbucks in the lobby! The restaurant was okay, convenient to stop and have a drink in but the food was over priced.
"Nice but noisy!"
This was a nice hotel and I enjoyed my stay but loud ambulances from the hospital across the street will keep me from staying here in the future. I would suggest staying elsewhere if you want to get ANY sleep at all.
"Shop on price"
This is the type of hotel that you should shop on price or purchase with miles. This is a nicely done chain hotel and as such you'll get an extremely nice and reliable room stay. This won't be a life changing hotel experience but is incredibly serviceable. Here's the pros, great location off of North Michigan and easy access to Navy Pier and Riverwalk. An extremely nice and helpful staff--really! Lots of electric plugs to the side of the bed and easily accessible. Cons. No views to speak of, even on the top floor, you basically see rooftops and taller buildings. Noise from hospital sirens. Also, you can hear normal conversation through connecting room doors. Ask for a non-connecting room. Second floor lobby with an elevator change to get up to rooms. If you're coming in for work or a quick stay, this is a serviceable property. If you want views, historic details, high style or hipster vibe, other choices are better. If you get a competitive price, it can be a great value for location and consistent quality.
