"Roadtrip to DC"
My son and I drove from the Texas Panhandle to Washington DC with a large trailer containing all of another son's belongings and his dog "Bernie". After several days on the road we finally arrived in the DC area. We booked a room at this Crystal City Hyatt because of it's close proximity to my son's new home. We arrived at the hotel shortly after lunchtime and were immediately greeted by Solomon who quickly helped us with our bags and gave us tips on finding a place to park our truck attached to a very large trailer. After we parked and walked back around the corner to the hotel Solomon again quickly helped us up to our rooms. We were given connecting rooms. Both rooms were spacious, clean, and nicely furnished. Our beds were comfortable. We used room service for morning coffee as well as an afternoon snack. We always received our order quickly. We ate twice in the restaurant (I can't recall it's name). The menu was a bit abbreviated, but if you're just looking for a club sandwich or a quick burger it's a tasty choice. We checked out extremely early in the morning so as to avoid driving through rush hour with our trailer and again we were so happy to have Solomon help us down with our bags and even stop us before we left the room to be sure we had remembered things like our phone chargers and things in the shower. He made us feel so welcome and cared for throughout our stay! We plan to stay here again when we come up to visit our son!
"Sleepless in DC"
For a pricey hotel the lack of real pillows was disturbing. I asked on multiple occasions for pillows and dealt with it because hotel was too busy. Was there for SNA CONFERENCE and being military expected better service to a service member. Also found out there were some perks to being a gold member the last day of my stay because the person checking me in at 11 pm didn't tell me about them.
"Excellent staff and service but hotel tired"
Returning stay, staff and service is great but I have to say the rooms are now very tired and the hotel would benefit from a refurb. In the 4 years I have been visiting, the rooms do not appear to have received any cosmetic attention other than basic maintenance and theyare showing signs of age.
"Doesn't live up to Hyatt brand"
This is the worst Hyatt I've ever stayed at. Simple requests like another pillow and blanket required multiple requests. Room lock malfunctioned and they left us sitting in hallway without even offering to wait in a comfortable place. Shuttle does not run on the advertised schedule and drivers were rude. There are lots of other choices in the area.
"Excelent Service and Hotel"
This is one of the best hotels for service and peace and quite in the District. Staff are friendly and my experience was wonderful. Overall this is the place to stay in the District. It is close to the Metro (with shuttle service to the Metro station every 20 minutes if you do not want to walk) and pick-up and deliver service every 20 minutes to Regan National Airport. Superb Hotel.
