Absolutely beautiful hotel. Everything about it was wonderful except the cost of food and drinks which were outrageous, but it's a resort in Orlando which is always over-priced.Comment of B. Christine , United States the 2015-04-28
Comment of W. Ralf , Germany the 2013-07-28
Wonderful surroundings, quiet and really good hotel just a few minutes from the Disney chaos. The rooms were clean, good beds and a lot of space. Big shower and really good bathroom facilities. Visitors have to spend some time in the wonderful pools (one heated) and park area. It is good to spend some calm time from the noise and long lines in Disney… The resort fee and the 17$ for parking makes the stay expensive, but worth it.
"Stay at Regency Grand Cypress Orlando"
Great stay, staff was great and enjoyed the Golf immensely. Room very comfortable with a great rain shower. Steak at Hemingways was one of the best I had. Food served at conference was excellent as well
"Wanted to revisit after the renovation."
The re-done Hyatt Regency Grand Cypress was beautiful. The hotel needed updating and they did a fabulous job. Rooms are beautiful, especially the bathrooms with huge showers and rain shower heads. Our view of the lake was beautiful. The hotel is pet friendly and one guest with a pet let the dog urinate in the hall. Disgusting. Turned us off of the property. Was not impressed with the food at the restaurant in the hotel. Pizza was good but the drinks were average and overpriced. Hemingway's Bar was still wonderful tho.
"Disney Without Mickey '"
After much neglect of my well being and the change in the weather I decided that I needed to get away to warm sunny Orlando, Florida to rebalance, reflect and recharge. After strolling the Internet for 4-5 star hotels not too far from Disney World I decided to book a three day getaway at the Hyatt Grand Cypress Hotel, Orlando, Florida. From the pictures posted on Tripadvisor.com the hotel had at least two of the things I felt necessary for an enjoyable stay-acres of lush tropical greenery and an updated bathroom. The check in process was seamless and the lobby was full of sunlight and clean. One thing that struck my attention was the pale beige color of the walls lining the courtyard of the above floors however this was offset by the festive Christmas decorations. When I opened the door to my room I noticed a slight whiff of cigarettes. I thought this could not be as smoking is not allowed in most of the rooms and there's signage posted everywhere. The smell was not overwhelming to the degree that I wanted to change rooms and the smell soon dissipated. Maybe I was drawn to the huge floor to ceiling windows that opened to two balconies each facing different directions. I took plenty pictures of the lush tropical outdoor plants. If you're active as I am and crave the outdoors then you love this hotel. There's paddle boating, kayaking, three outdoor jogging trails, an arcade room, table hockey, tennis, biking, several water falls, a gym with impressive Life Fitness machines (I'm contemplating buying the same brand of treadmill), heated outdoor pools, volley ball, basketball court and fire pits. Food prices were reasonable. I stayed on the premises enjoying all that the hotel had to offer until my last day when I contemplated whether or not I'd see Mickey Mouse. How could I visit Orlando and not see Mickey ' I decided it was a must. I've never been to Disney World and loved the Mickey Mouse Club as a kid so I decided the visit was a must! Plus everyday the hotel charges a resort fee of $25 which includes transportation to and from Disney so I had to try and get my monies worth somehow.
"Great stay, excellent restaurants & pet-friendly!"
From the staff, to the accommodations to the restaurants, this hotel is top notch. My husband, 26-yr-old daughter and I stayed at the Hyatt Grand Cypress for 3 nights on a quick visit to Universal Studios. We had a room with an adjoining suite on the 7th floor where we had a wonderful view of the nightly fireworks at Disney from our window. The rooms were lovely and clean. There is a fridge and 2 bottles of water are complimentary. As for the beds, ours was comfortable with about 5 pillows of varying softness and thicknesses and we all found pillows which worked for our individual comfort needs. Our daughter slept in the adjoining room on the pull-out couch… unfortunately, she could feel the inner workings of the bed and did not sleep comfortably the first 2 nights of our stay. The 3rd night, exhausted from a full day at Universal and positioning herself kind of sideways, she was able to sleep better than the previous 2 nights. This was the only negative during our stay. The grounds and pools are beautiful… great swinging bridge over the main pool. There is also a beautiful patio area with a huge tree with hanging lanterns… such a lovely spot for a small wedding or renewal of vows. If you like a western theme, they also have a fun area that looks like a small western town. We were pleasantly surprised that this is a pet-friendly hotel… it was SO nice seeing animals around… they allow dogs up to 50 lbs. Now to the food... Oh the hotel restaurants… WOW! We were very impressed with the healthy, delicious food choices and incredible wait staff at The Lake House and Hemingway’s. The Lake House - Dinner 1: GRASS FED BURGER!!! Hooray! I did not ask about organic salads and nothing was listed as such, but everything was fresh and very well-prepared. My husband and daughter love sushi and were very impressed with the quality and freshness. When asked, they mentioned to the manager that the menu seemed a bit limited and more to choose from would be a plus. The manager was very receptive, mentioned the confidence he has in his chef’s talents and more selections could definitely be made. Buffet breakfast 1, 2, 3: WONDERFUL! Excellent variety. Omelet, pancake and waffles made to order, orange juice, (My husband did need to mention that the orange juice did not taste fresh and it was immediately seen to), apple juice, fresh fruits, bagels, breads with a toaster, if you prefer toasted. Hot selections: oatmeal, egg white soufflé, potatoes, quiche lorraine, turkey sausage & patties, bacon, etc, They also have breakfasts & juices not at the buffet which you can order from your waiter. Vincenzo personally saw to it that we were comfortable and happy. He requested and welcomed any/all comments we had to improve his already excellent restaurant. Dinner 2: Hemingway’s - another excellent meal, and again, our waiter was absolutely wonderful! (I WISH I could remember his name!!) The price of the dinners for the three of us, were each about $150, that was with 2 glasses of wine, an appetizer & 3 entrees. (no room for dessert… but all looked delicious!)
