"Top notch hotel outside the hurly burly "
Ok it's a Hyatt with what you'd expect from a five star but this one has been designed differently. The entrance is grand and local , the lobby full of stupas and the gardens lovely. We found the range of International food to be excellent both in the cafe and the restaurant. The staff are friendly and the service quick. It has a useful business lounge with a couple of PCs. The WiFi is free and fast compared with anywhere else we have experienced in Nepal. It's outside the main city area (about 20 mins) and very handy for the airport (about 20 mins ) .
"Supposed to get married here"
Hyatt Regency Kathmandu is so beautiful that we were supposed to get married here in June 2015. But unfortunately 1 month before our wedding a massive earthquake left Nepal devastated and we had to shift our wedding to Jaipur, India. The hotel itself is amazing beyond words. You can see the Himalayan Range from some of the rooms. And it has a beutiful walkway leading to the Stupa Mandir within the hotel itself. The highlight is the acres of greenery in the hotel and they even have a helipad. Overall, It doesn;t feel like you are in Kathmandu upon entering the premises. --A drop of ink may make a million think. Pawan Manghnani
"Good hotel, top staff"
I like the Hyatt in Kathmandu mainly because of the staff. They are very helpful, welcoming and pleasant to deal with. The location is a bit cut adrift from the hustle and bustle of Kathmandu so you will need to be prepared to pay for a taxi to the touristy areas. I am very used to luxury hotels so would give this 3.5 stars of it could. It has a nice pool and jacuzzi area on the lower floors and a gym in the basement floor. All in all I'd say it's the top hotel in Nepal from the locals perspective. Just missing a few touches of class.
"Very nice property"
We stayed for one night for a conference. Checkin was slow inspite of prior booking. But Mr Rupesh at reception was kind enough to allot all of us rooms on same floor. Rooms are spacious with great views. Bath facility was ok. Breakfast nicely spread with enough indian specialities. Casino was nice but little dull in ambience and atmosphere. Overall a nice stay.
nice hotel, not very far from the airport the hotel is well made and has a good feel and aura to it! food is good, was visiting here for a family get together so it was a pleasant experience rooms are dated and need urgent attention, air conditioning needs to be overhauled, there is scope of improvement in service and attentiveness as well! overall an average of just above average hotel, but good among the available options in kathmandu! compared to the international prices i think it was a tad over priced.
