We attended the Chicago Bears game. We really enjoyed our stay at the hotel. It was a little more then we would have like to pay, but a great location in regards to the field. A let down was no hot tub and very expensive breakfast food!
Very clean, lovely hotel. Beds are very comfortable. Beautiful bathrooms! Good location if you are going to the Bears game or just looking for a weekend out. Quiet. Good neighborhood around the corner. Walking distance to a couple museums. Polite and courteous staff. Would stay again.
Location was perfect for convention I was at. A bit far from Michigan ave ,but easy to get cab and 10 minutes you are in the heart of Chicago. Hotel staff was very knowledgable about area and throw to get anywhere.
It's in a good location, bus stop is close and subway is about a 10-minute walk away and room isn't bad. These are the only positive factors I can think of about this hotel. Nov 2016 - Was travelling for about 5 or 6 hrs beforehand and arrived an hr early for check-in so we grabbed some lunch first. Came back at 3pm to check-in and suddenly our room "wasn't available". Staff didn't say a word when we first arrived, no contact was made prior to arrival about this issue... nothing. So you can imagine after hours of travelling, in the freezing November weather, the last thing we wanted to hear was, "your room isn't available, there's a maintenance issue". We paid a lot of money and our room was supposed to have one of the best views of the city, but of course this was no longer an option. The staff made no attempt to give us a discount or tried to help us in any way for the absurd price we'd paid, my friend really had to argue with them before any attempts were made to meet our needs. We asked for a complimentary airport transfer (as a compromise) for not being able to have the original room that we had booked (for our journey home) after our 4-night stay and they said no, because all the companies who do airport transfers are third parties, it's not their own. We did ask how they can have absolutely no connections to a coach/bus company and no answer was given. The lady at the reception desk had to constantly run to her manager's office when asked about certain things, but the manager never actually came out of his/her office to deal with the problem which I thought was so rude. As we weren't exclusive members of the hotel, they just didn't seem to care that we were disappointed that we weren't getting what we'd paid for. The attitude of the staff was awful for example, when we wanted to make phone calls using their telephones in the concierge area (because we had no international call plan on our mobiles), they were really reluctant to help us and would make it v clear that they weren't happy to do so. I have to say only one member of staff in concierge was happy to help, which was nice given the shoddy treatment we'd had so far. I did read some negative reviews for this hotel prior to booking but I really didn't think it would be THAT bad given it's a Hyatt and it generally has a good reputation. I was wrong, this is probably the worst hotel I've stayed in - in terms of hospitality and customer care.
"Nice hotel! A bit pricey"
Nice hotel. The rooms are nice but smell a bit funny. Also, I think it's a bit overpriced for being so far from the city. Also, I don't see why they should charge so much more for a room with a view. As a Gold Member, I thought this would be an upgrade free of charge. I also required a wakeup call with was not done well.
