They took great care of us and made it easy to store luggage and still gave us access to all the amenities at the hotel before our room became available. The only downside was the number of unsupervised kids using the hot tub.Comment of W. Kirsten , United States the 2016-07-29
The location, setting, and overall experience were all fantastic. Great value for the money, exceptional service, hassle-free booking and reservation -- and most of all, the room was amazing. Excellent decor, well equipped, super comfortable bed, and great marina view. Hyatt remains at the top of their game. Our experience could not have been better -- the only thing wrong was that we wish we could have stayed longer! Five stars all the way, from the time we booked until the time we checked out.Comment of S. Kevin , United States the 2016-07-05
The hotel was absolutely beautiful. So close to sea world and the view was beyond amazing.Comment of B. Christopher , United States the 2016-04-22
"Central Location, Beautiful Views"
I am surprised by all of the recent negative reviews of this property. My husband and I stayed for 4 nights in mid-January and had a wonderful time. We moved from San Diego a little over a year prior, so knew that the location would be perfect for us. Check in was easy. Corey at the front desk gave us a great corner room since we were celebrating an occasion. The view of the bay and ocean was beautiful. Our room did show a few signs or wear and tear, but nothing like what previous reviewers mentioned, and I am a fairly picky person when it comes to hotels. Most rooms, unless on the bottom floors, seem as though they would have very nice views. The location itself is very central to anything you could want to do during a visit to San Diego. The parking fee is steep, at $37 per day, but you will find that even at hotels where space is not at as much of a premium. We weren't able to use the pools due to the weather, but the area looked clean and very resort-like with lovely landscaping. Overall, we would definitely return to this property and found it a great value.
"Overall, pretty disappointed."
The lady checked me in wasn't pleasant or accommodating my needs. The first room was given to me was in very bad condition and extremely loud throughout the night. The music by the pool was on at 4AM. I had to call the front desk to request turn it off. The following morning, I fell in the shower because shower curtain was too long for the tub and I stepped and slipped on it. Ridiculously got busied, yet didn't hit my head or anything. I requested a change of room and was given better room.
"Fair value for what we paid."
The Hotel location was very good , amenities were also very good . the room we stayed could have been a bit updated . The staff in reception was ok. They have great views and did offer complimentary bike or paddle board wish was nice even though we didn't have time.
The hotel is like an all inclusive resort style hotel. All the walkways that lead to the fitness center, market and restaurant are outside...not a problem unless the weather is bad. It happens to be raining during our trip. The restaurant is pricy $16 for breakfast...the food did taste good with average portions. The rooms are clean, ok towels and cheap tp. They have outdated beds and furnishings. The rooms are pretty good size so that is nice. They put me and my husband in a 2 queen accessible room. Not sure why. No in room coffee or refrigerator. You have to walk outside to Starbucks/Market. We are Hyatt Gold Card holders but there does not seem to be a benefit. There seem to be plent of Uber/Lyft drivers in the area. The pool looks fun...we did not use it. The hot tub is full of kids.
"Old musty hotel rooms"
It was a very busy weekend and guests were very loud. I requested rooms with a garden view and were given rooms with non-opening windows and smelled very musty. Coffee packets were the worst coffee ever. Rooms were quite pricey and we expected better quality furniture, not stained old counter tops. We came for a wedding and had to pay a 'resort fee'. The weather was too cold to enjoy the pool or outside activities. There was nothing outstanding about our expensive stay at this hotel this weekend.
