"Nothing bad to say about this place."
Loved it from the second we arrived. Very central. Parking either across the street outdoors or underground parking at the hotel. If you're feeling fancy, valet is right there... The rooms are clean and a good size... The stay was extremely pleasant. Spend a little bit more and stay in this hotel...
"No need to go outside"
I selected this hotel because it was attached to Place Des Arts and you walk inside which is a bonus is January. You also have access to shopping and food. Hotel is modern and fresh. My room was nice and spacious with a good working area and internet worked well. I did not like the bed, it wasn't comfortable or special which you expect from a 4 and 5 star hotel. Room service was disappointing, ordered a cob salad and it was just ok.
"Watch out for conventions or block bookings"
try and find out first if a large group or convention is taking over the hotel...we had the unpleasant experience of boorish medical students. Better off to go to one of the quieter hotels in the area (e.g. smaller Best Western nearby which is pleasantly funky). Had the slowest check-in ever. But the rooms are nice and spacious and the meeting areas are impressive.
If you stay at this hotel through the week, be aware the pool is closed Monday and Tuesday, and the rest of the week days it only opens at noon. They take some sort of dinner break and then close around 9pm. The staff was very cold this time around.
"Dirty and pricey!"
We had a horrible stay. There were so many issues with the building, food and drinks were very overpriced. The rooms were dirty and regular maintenance was needed. I will never stay here again. There are many better hotels ive stayed in downtown montreal for a better price and better quality by far!
