"Only one start because I can't give a zero -"
I almost feel bad giving what is without a doubt my worst review. But upon reflection it is fully deserved. And I will review this quickly in bullet point format as this hotel doesn't even warrant my time - I write only to save someone else from going. - This is beaten and worn down hotel. Mold in the showers, stained carpets, smoke smelling rooms. I won't say it is a bad as the worst hostel but there are nicer hostels! - Service - wow, everyone seemed miserable. One manager who had come from the RItz system in the states gave an effort an service but I would guess the rest of the staff hates her for her efforts. - Lounge - I paid for lounge access and got a piece of paper with the times for food and beverage. In the times I went it was open but no food or drink available - just an old smelly velvet lounge. - Yes, supposedly a renovation will help but my gut says it is equivalent to re-arranging deck chairs on the Titanic with their employee all bringing their misery on the guests. I could write more but at day's end I could no more passionately encourage any traveller to avoid this hotel.
"Needs to join the 21st Century"
In fairness, the hotel is doing renovations to upgrade the property. However, the upgrades are really that great and the hotel is extremely tired. Hyatt really needs to step it up if they want to bring this to the level of a typical Hyatt property. Long way to go. The service is excellent, but the facilities aren't. I will say high praises to all of the staff who go out of there way to do everything well. Everyone is friendly and tries to make things nice. A big complaint for both the business and personal traveller is the wifi. Contrary to the General Manager's replies to other complaints on this topic stating it has been fixed, IT HASN'T. I stayed there in December and it was absolutely terrible. Any sort of performance through either wireless or wired Ethernet was extremely slow. Don't expect to be able to stream any videos on your device or have a WebEx call. Even uploading/downloading a picture is often like dial-up. I ran speed tests and was lucky to get a few Mbps. This was in December. The management claimed this was fixed in October and was a slow service provider. It obviously wasn't fixed. My wife is also staying there for business now and it is impossible for her to use. It's now January. Is it really that hard to bump up your service and join the modern world'
"Would highly recommend "
Despite the bad reviews we had read about before our trip on 08.01.17, I have to say that we found the hotel staff to be polite, very helpful and the room was clean and tidy, no bugs or noise. Although there is construction work going on, apart from a slight tapping sound for about a minute, we heard nothing else. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay here and look forward to staying there again.
"Cheap nights but wait until the renovation is done (end 2017)"
The property is undergoing major renovations with over 60% of rooms out of commission as well as the main lobby. They are doing a pretty good job of not inconveniencing guests while they do this, and room rates are very low for the location, but the unrenovated rooms are really showing their wear and tear. (post renovation expect the room rates to be very high, so no might be the time if you are on a budget). The staff are friendly but based on my experience not very effective as simple requests needed to made 2-3 times at least (for example a request for a roll-away bead needed to be made 3 times over 90 minutes). The club lounge has a nice high quality set of snacks Drinks are limited to beer and wine. This hotel is all about the view and proximity to the business district. The attached upscale shopping mall beneath the property and the ease of connection to either the metro or CDG make it a great location.
"Not up to Hyatt Standards"
Stay only if it's necessary to be in the area. You can discount part of my dissatisfaction to the fact that the hotel is undergoing renovations but the dining room staff were inattentive and it was annoying to have them chatting in 2s and 3s without paying attention to the customers. There were 9 saff for a dining room that never had more than 25 guests at one time and they were still unattentive. The food was cold and the buffet layout totally counterintuitive. After the renovations, it will certainly improve. It's a Hyatt Hotel afterall!
