"Excellent resort in hotel zone."
One week stay in January for get away. Beautiful lobby and common areas that are spacious and inviting. Rooms spacious and very clean, with large bathrooms, wonderful tiled showers, well stocked minibars, and top notch appointments. Large pool area with plenty of lounges and cabanas, both there and on beach. Attentive staff who make an effort to remember names and drink favorites. 5 star all around
"FIRST 2 WEEK VACATION AT THE HYATT ZILARA"
We have been to this hotel many times and have always found the service second to none. This is the first time that we have stayed for 2 weeks and it was still amazing, but we didn't favour some of the changes. I didn't like that they took the laundry hampers from the rooms, they were convenient for the laundry while there. The little bag that's there now is too small and there is no where for it to go but the floor. also the little stool that was under the sink was gone and I often have used it while there as I have a bad back and it was a chair for me to sit on. However we did like the new chairs in the room, Even though there are things that we don't love, I feel that I must mention how much we love the staff. Franky and Eloisa in the lobby bar were great wait staff and very fun to have around everynight. Claudia in Pelicanos is great even though we miss her is Spice. Glendy in Spice was wonderful cooking our eggs this year. Again this year we went to the Chefs Plate restaurant and food is always good, however we missed having the mirror above the chef. It always added to the experience when you could see what he was doing. Both of the chefs we had were fun and cheerful, but Juan really made the evening great by taking pictures and laughing with us all. We will definately be returning next year for another great vacation, sooner if we could.
"Great spot! "
We had a great time celebrating our birthdays on a girls trip. Beautiful resort and wonderful service! Had a great massage at the spa. Food was just good. Octavio was a great host/waiter on the beach. Would go back again!
My family and I had returned to the hyatt ziva for the second year in a row with 7 people in our party. The hotel manager, William Cervera, was the worst hotel manager with the worst customer service. Huge disappointment and very dissatisfied with how he treated us. The hotel brought in vendors one night in the hotel lobby. We purchased a sculpture of ourselves from the vendor that was supposed to look like the picture we had provided him with. The sculpture was supposed to be delivered to the lobby the night before we left. When we were informed our sculpture had arrived, the vendor had already left and we proceeded to open the box only to find a sculpture of 2 random people. Not us! When we complained to the hotel manager and demanded our money back, he said he does not stand behind the vendors that come into his hotel and it was our problem. After being returning customers and having spent another week in the hotel, purchasing 3 rooms a night, the manager let us leave dissatisfied and disappointed over $70. If you let vendors or anyone into your hotel, YOU are responsible for them. Not your guests from a foreign country.
The resort was very beautiful but you can tell that it is an older resort as some tiles need to be repaired. I was upset that there was a lot of mold/mildew in infinity pool. I was also disappointed that there wasn't much variety when it came to the food selection. The breakfast buffet was very good though. I was unhappy that I needed to call for room service to clean our room- but when they did they did a very good job. The resort is more for 35 and older. Not much excitement or nightlife. But if you are looking for a quiet getaway this is the place to go. Overall it was a nice stay just not exactly what I was personally looking for. I was looking for a beautiful all inclusive resort with somewhat of a nightlife.
