"Outstanding Staff Make This Special Resort Extraordinary"
With so many marvelous places in the world to visit, we travel frequently yet we rarely return to the same place twice. The highest endorsement and compliment we can offer is to admit this to you: during our second visit to this spectacular resort, we were already talking about how soon we could return for a third time. Our second trip to the Hyatt Ziva was even better than our first. We first visited when Ziva had just opened as a Hyatt property, and we were very impressed with everything then. Had this recent escape merely matched our first, we would have had a wonderful vacation. Instead, it exceeded our expectations in every way. In the two years since, it seems everything got a little better – the food was a step tastier, the entertainment improved, the beach area was expanded and better kept, even the activities were more engaging and recruiting for them more consistent. But what really makes this place shine is the staff. Several Ziva team members went above and beyond the call of duty to make us feel welcome and “at home.” We would especially like to mention Rashida, Deon and Sudion from the Lounge, Lajukinye from Yukon Jacks, and Shamey from the front desk for their standout service. Truly, everyone at Ziva was terrific, but the above people set the standard. Marvelous resort, spectacular staff. We hope to return someday soon!
"The best Kidz club ever!!!"
I usually don't write reviews, however, my husband and I were very impressed with Hyatt's Ziva Rose Hall Kidz club and we wanted to share our wonderful experience with those of you who are interested in family oriented resorts. We visited this hotel a week ago with our two six years old daughters. On the third day we discovered the Kidz club and after hearing great things from other parents on the resort we have decided to leave our daughters for a couple of hours with the other kids. Ever since our two girls couldn't wait to go back there again. The wonderful staff: Velesha, Ameik, Shanae, Shatol, Sophia, Alicia and Fiona kept the kids entertained, involved, safe, occupied, curious, educated, happy and most of all they had so much fun at all times. When you start from feeding the fish, pool games, building sand castles, yard games, painting rocks and painting leafs, making arts and crafts, to their night entertainment such as: talent show, fashion show, pj party, bonfire on the beach, making and decorating cookies and many more. It was amazing to watch how much these amazing women loved their jobs, cared for our daughters and the other kids, never left them out of sight even for a second and they were having just as much fun as the kids if not even more. We just wanted to say Thank You once more for providing an unforgettable experience and great memories. We miss you and the girls still talk about all of you. We would love to come back soon and we highly recommend this resort especially if you have young kids. Mya's and Rya's mom.
Absolutely amazing resort especially the staff. Just to name a few individuals who made our stay spectacular; Sophia, Alicia, Velesha, Fiona( kids club); Odane, oshane, Janice, Ruth-ann and crystal who kept us entertained all day @the pool. Let's not forget the pool side bar kereshia, julia, Gloria who kept us wanting more from the bar... Yah man!!! kudos to all of you and for all that you did to make our stay enjoyable and pleasant...
"A Nice Resort"
This is a beautiful resort with all the amenities onsite. Restaurants were not crowded and food was great. Enjoyed the convenience of a 24/7 cafe with great coffee and different restaurant offerings. Beach not as great as it is rocky but enjoyed the Cabana service run by Collice and the staff from Horizons. Overall it was a good stay.
"Great Place for Vacation and Awesome Service!"
We booked the trip through Andrea at Susan Peavey Travel. She did a great job of providing the right resort at the price point and saved me many hours online. The resort is very nice. You can check in at Hyatt Lounge in airport where we were given a cold towel and cold beer. Within 15 minutes the Van brought us to the hotel and our bags were unloaded. The Ziva has a closed in lobby but very nicely decorated with a lobby bar right off the main lobby. We were early so we went to pool. Very large with about 16 cabanas. The service at this hotel is second to none. Everyone is very accommodating. Front desk, bellmen, housekeeping, bartenders, waiters/waitresses, pool attendants....EVERYONE. I was very impressed. We stayed in the Rose Hall building which we really liked as there are multiple restaurants below as well as nightly entertainment. Had a quick walk to beach and pool. Others may prefer something closer to lobby or in the pool area. It depends what you like. We had a beach front room which was beautiful. It was a corner unit with a king size bed, desk, sofa, chair and a fantastic balcony with a view to die for!!! Rooms in the Rose Hall building on the beach front 3401 - 3406 are all great and facing water. The room was very clean and housekeeping was great at making up room and turn down service. The only complaints that I have is the room is showing its age. The slider to bathroom didn't close all the way and there was a 5 inch gap, the shower stall door had to be forced shut, and the bathroom door didn't close unless it was locked. I would have also liked the room stocked with wine and vodka instead of beer and soft drinks. I realize we were in the family area and not adults only but would have appreciated something that I liked to drink*(and I did ask concierge but she said it wasn't available for room) There wasn't a ton of activities. Yes, there was dancing at pool and some games but I prefer to be very active. While they had paddle boards, kitesurfing it was always too rough to take anything out. They finally were able to take folks out on hobie cats but only on last day. We snorkeled but didn't see much. There is no ability to take a long beach walk as it is with other resorts. We went off site on three different occasions in order to partake in activities. Has a gym and it was ok. Good weights but the cardio equipment has seen better days. Went into the shower facilities and very clean. Entertainment nights in front of Rose Hall. Starts at 6:30 with Jazz and by 9 there begins a variety of acts(circus, Michael Jackson, Reggae, Jazz). It goes to about 10:30. Good for the kids. In fact, I didn't see a lot of teenage kids at the resort in general. Lots of Younger kids and older. Just something to take into consideration. There is a kids camp for the young ins. Lots of bars with good alcohol(pool, beach, throughout resort). Drinks are included. Lots of places to get snacks(gelato, brownies, cakes). Couple of cappacino places which were very good. The food was ok. We went to every restaurant and bar. It wasn't bad but wasn't excellent either. it was ok. Maybe I was expecting too much but I felt the food lacking in presentation and taste. My favorite lunch was at Calypso with the Red Snapper and Chocolate Cake. The burgers were tasty. The breakfast at Calypso and Horizon were good. Didn't like the dinners at Choicez as it was a buffet but nothing was appealing to the eye. Liked Petite Paris and found them to have the best food overall. Chauteaubriand, Coque St Jacques, Salmon and desserts(mousse and creme brûlée were excellent). Asian Fusion was OK and Brazillian if you like meat(we don't) Italian was good but it took an hour + to get the table and another hour to be served. Pizza was good. All in all it was a nice resort but I would rather have more activities and a bigger beach. I would highly recommend based upon the service, resort location in Montego Bay, beachfront accommodations, and number of bars.
