"Very good stay"
Stayed for 3 nights last week on business trip to NYC. Stayed here over 2 years ago (when it was part of the Kimpton group) and pleasantly surprised that the standards in all respects have not dropped at all! Immaculately clean throughout, super comfy bed, most friendly and accommodating check in staff ever! Stayed in one of the lowest rate, so smallest rooms available, but still more than adequate size, beautifully decorated, furnished and maintained. No restaurant so need to go out for breakfast but plenty of breakfast options within a few steps of the hotel! Location on Park Avenue, literally 3 minutes walk to Grand Central can't be beaten! Only slight negative was no coffee maker in room, but I believe they will bring you one on request - so only my 'laziness' prevented me having one!! I visit NYC for business 4 or 5 times a year and will definitely be staying here again!
"Reasonable night stay, great if you are travelling in from Grand Central"
Twelfth floor, Queen bed room (1204). The furniture in there made it a little tight. The side tables are just a few inches too big and, as a result, one blocks the doorway of the bathroom. Also, it was cold outside and the heating in the room was not working. I suspect the windows need replacing. I was cozy in bed but a bit cold walking around. The bathroom was nicely done, but a few items have been broken by guests in the past-- the mirror light switch cover, and two or three tiles in the bathtub/shower. The carpet needs replacing. The traffic noise was a bit loud, but I had earplugs with me, so I won't complain. I was a little surprised that it was so loud on the 12th floor, but this area of Park Ave right before Grand Central is ultra busy. The lobby was spacious and reasonably appointed. I'd probably stay again, but would advise this especially for those traveling through Grand Central, or headed nearby to the New York Public Library.
"Don't miss out on a great property with a fabulous location"
The staff is so helpful and they want to make you feel welcome. Location is perfect as it is in the heart of midtown and some of the best real estate including walking distance to Grand Central. The rooms are very spacious and again, the Iberostar reputation is part of the experience. The services are limited but when in NYC, nothing is not accessible!
Book this room for Valentine's Day last week, thought I booked a certain room even called to confirm before I purchased the room and still was given a different room, jacuzzi tub water was coming out brown didn't even get a chance to use it which was the whole point of purchasing the room engineer just told Is to let the water run and it never went back clear until the am which by t I didn't even want to get in the tub after all that brown water had been in it . called the front desk to see where I can get hotel water for tea front desk lady said she would call me back and never did, my boyfriend had to search down stair for hot water......when I checked in the front desk women didn't give me any information just the key and but when I came downstairs she was providing another guest with wifi passcode and just being extra nice I don't not receive any of that.....it is sad because it is a nice hotel and I chose it because of the reviews but I didn't get the same treatment or experience as the other guest who reviewed......really nice hotel rooms were nice service was just not good at all....door man was nicer than front desk lady (the door man)
"Awesome Anniversary stay!"
Just returned from a 4 night stay at Iberostar 70 Park Avenue and we had a great stay. The check in took less than 5 minutes and they honored all our room requests and we were quickly in our King premium. This room is pretty spacious especially for New York standards. The decor was chic and understated with a huge soaking tub big enough for two. Great water pressure in the shower, thick fluffy towels, speedy free wifi, in- room safe, and comfy beds. What more could you want' And the location is so convenient for exploring the town and minutes from Grand Central. Thanks to all the staff for a great Anniversary weekend and making us feel welcome! We would definitely stay here again.
