"Excellent - we'll be back"
Spacious room, very clean, staff is wonderful, food and drinks are just perfect. We loved the restaurant Bahia. The chefs Menezes and Roberto were absolutely amazing. To me, they should be considered the best chefs in the world. Menezes went out of his way to help us to taste their delicious food. Many Thanks for Almir who patiently listened to us and worked so hard to attend our needs. Thanks to Alexandro, Daniela and Marlene who were excellent staff and made us feeling really welcomed around the Star Prestige pool. They also offered us great insight about Bahia in general. We are looking forward to returning to your hotel soon.
"Not a 5 stars hotel"
Rooms, beach & spa facilities are excellent. The service is absolutely poor. From housekeeping who scream and laugh and intrude since 8 am, to unannounced construction in front of our window with extremely loud noise and workers all day long. Food is good at buffet, but none of the 4 restaurants provide great food or experience. The live shows at night are pretty good, with outstanding dancers and singers. Although it is high season, the hotel is almost empty, except during weekends, which does not contribute to create an active and joyful mood. So, they'd need to improve the service and training to charge these rates ...
"You have to Stay Here!"
My wife and I have visited 64 countries and stayed in many all inclusive resorts. We would say that this is one of the best ever! We are a member of Iberostar the Club which gives a lot of privileges. If you stay here you must take the Star Prestige upgrade to use the exclusive lounge and swimming pool plus many other benefits. Alexandro by the Star Prestige swimming pool will look after you very well The staff in this resort really make the holiday special. The management through the chef's and the waiters to the person that sweeps the sand. The chef Menezes is our favourite. The food in the Bahiano restaurant is spectacular and make sure you have the Moqueca which is out of this world. Use Uber from Salvador airport both ways here for about 100 Reals each way. Being English I don't like it too hot and being February the temperatures are pleasant. We are already planning the next trip back here. Can't wait!
"Good for family holidays "
We have spent New Years at the hotel, on the presidential suite. The suite had most amazing views over the beach, two jacuzzis and was suitable for our 4 persons family. The amenities could have been better but the bed was comfy and everything was Ok despite noticing some use on the furniture and exterior terrace. The food was average but we did not expect too much for such a big resort, the kids club was full of activities and every day our 10 year olds enjoy the games and especially the day when they participated in the evening show. The drinks were average, the hotel was full so the pools were not so clean as they should be as well as the sun beds, I would appoint it as the biggest flaw in the hotel. We felt the place very secure, and had lots of fun with all the activities. We were already in most Caribbean resorts so we wanted to try something new, the village of praia do forte is very nice and worth going. The kids loved the kids spa, my massage was average and the room had little privacy. The gym is well equipped though could be updated, it is big for a hotel facility with lots of equipment of all kinds, Just a bit used by now.
"Still one of the best, but becoming very expensive.."
I've been at this hotel many times and for sure it's still one of the best all inclusive resorts of Brazil. It's getting more and more expensive year after year, but it's still rewarding. For me building 6 is the best option to stay if you have kids and want to be in the center of everything and activities going on. Positives: Free Wifi (not the best speed, but free and working in the most areas of the hotel). Could be expanded to the tennis court area. Best of the best: rooms quality (shower, towels, beds, TV, AC), tennis classes and courts, swimming pools with warm water, kids swimming pool with the pirate boat, kids club, adults sports club, beach service, main restaurant service and food variety & quality. Negatives: Cats walking around the main restaurant almost every dinner time. Not hygienic, some kids don't like and could be allergic. I believe they should find some time during the middle of the day for a swimming pool cleaning maintenance. In the afternoon all the swimming pools are very dirty. The baby room still could be improved with more options, variety, etc. Also it's terrible to not have a elevator to the 1st and 2nd floors rooms. Suggestions: Offer free sun protection lotion service around the swimming pool area. I've seen this in a few resorts around the world (like in Bora Bora) and this could be an great bonus.
