"Nice hotel, good accommodations and great service."
I spent a week at Il Campanario with my wife and my son (5 yo). The service is great, people are very kind, friendly and willing to help. It's by the beach and besides an open mall with charming stores. The staff at the kids area was the best. My son still talks about them. Our room had a room and living room with a small kitchen. We had a pool view. I would come back.
"Not a 5 star hotel"
On the first night we ordered a seafood risotto and it had way too much salt, not to mention that it took almost an hour, the breakfast was ok. As for the rooms, the furniture in them was old, the couch fell apart on our second night there. Their bell boy service is non existent. We had a problem with the credit card, it was the first and only time we used it in Brazil as only in hotels do we need the card in order to do the check in. A few minutes after we were supposed to have checked out, our card received two random charges that amounted to $600. We took this to the hotel manager and aside from making us wait for nearly two hours, which nearly cost us our flight, nothing was solved. So, check your card transactions after staying there.
"So much better"
Really didn't know what to expect from this place but it was WAY better than we expected! The whole place was spotlessly clean with wonderful , helpful friendly staff and we could have breakfast or other meals for a very reasonable amount and add to that a huge outdoor pool and heated 30 metre indoor pool and gym what can anyone have to complain about' Wish more hotels match this place.
"Good potential -bad service.. "
We have few Brazilian family members who speak fluent Portuguese so I guess we were saved from some of the bad experiences described by previous reviewers. The hotel location is good though slightly remote from the village vivid center. We had booked through Booking.com and had some calculation issues at check in. The hotel suffer from a bit of lack of maintenance. That is well felt at the gym, kids club and a bit in the rooms. One elevator was miss functional until my mother in low got stack in it and they had stopped it's use. Since we arrived slightly off season and some of the local restaurants were closed - we have decided to upgrade to half board and have dinners at the hotel (we had children in our group and wanted to prevent the hassle of looking for a place to eat every night)- Big mistake! The food takes hours (literary) to arrive! Accept for one night of magic when it all went normally. One of the times we had our meal over 2.5 hours - not such a great experience with hungry young kids....
"Floripa was a disappointment "
We stayed at this apartment hotel complex during our honeymoon in Jan/feb 2016. When we arrived we were greeted nicely at the check in desk and upgraded slightly as it was our honeymoon. However when we went to the room we didn't like it very much and from the get go there was a problem with our AC. Once that was fixed, we soon had trouble with the hot water. Once that was fixed we had trouble with our card reader on the door. We ordered some food in the room which took forever to come and was only decently good. Nothing special. However, our worst problem was that when we wanted to inquire about anything, there was no English speaking staff post 8pm!! We were also misguided regarding the shopping and supermarket hours, and we ended up being at the shops after they had shut! We decided to have a massage and they had only one therapist so my husband went first. His massage was SO bad he walked out 20 mins later as all the therapist did was shake his muscles!!! Overall a bad experience here with everything.
