"Nice resort for traveling in Sicily"
We traveled by car in Sicily and hotel's location was good for it. We didn't use any spa or resort facilities. The room was ok, but the sound from the next rooms was very annoying. We asked to replace our room because of baby crying during all nights next to it, but the front desk didn't bother to do it and was very unfriendly. Beside of it, nice hotel, average food, very beautiful location.
"Relaxing and pampering treat"
Me an mu husband visited the hotel early September this year. At the reception we were welcomed, checked in and told how to reach our bedroom. it would make guest feel more welcomed if the receptionist would provide a brief guide of where to find the hotel's facilities prior to tell where is the bedroom. The car park is not up to the standard of the hotel also the path to the entrance of the hotel is very dark. The hotel interior is nice, corridors will benefit from extra lights on walls. The bedroom was clean, fridge with drinks was provided and the view outside the balcony for the smokers ones was pleasant. The bedroom had leaflets on local activities as well info on hotel, however to see a nice more up to standard folder would be ideal, as info about facilities of the hotel were on a puch pocket . Lots of choice for breakfast, also nice to see some selection of freshly made traditional cakes, service at the restaurant was impeccable. The spa area is well organised, courteous receptionist, the pool was clean as well changing rooms; it would be nice to have additional available towels in the changing rooms to avoid asking at the reception. The gym area is not big despite the size of the hotel and the number of visitors the room could be improved. The hotel has a reading room which is kept dark, furniture not well arranged for the purpose; therefore not attractive and not used.
"Not Great "
Rather tired and the staff are pretty grim too. The place needs a serious upgrade. The rooms are ok but could do with an upgrade. Breakfast was a miserable affair with barely warm scrambled egg and a poor selection of fruit and cakes. Theres no reason to stay here apart from the golf course which is also not the best, but is interesting. On the plus side it was cheap, has great views of mt Etna and is clean. I will stay somewhere else if am in the region again.
"Excellent place, people and atmosphere. Nice food."
There was nothing that I missed or thought was incomplete about my stay in Il Picciolo Etna Golf Resort & Spa. If I must try to find something to comment about that I did not regard as absolutely perfect, it must have been the food. I paid full board, and received three courses for each mea, which was nice. However, I got a feeling that the food was somewhat mass-produced; especially since it arrived almost immediately at the table after seating. That is, the food did not necessarily correspond to the nice way the hotel present the food and restaurant in the hotel website. Thats why I gave 4 out of 5 possible marks for Il Picciolo Etna Golf Resort & Spa.
"Holiday with golf"
We booked our holiday to include golf. I emailed the golf secretary who booked us in for 2 9 hole rounds. If you are staying at the hotel then the 50 Euro 9 hole round becomes 35 euro..but none of this was communicated. The course is lovely and pretty well maintained. If it is hot would suggest hiring a buggy. As to the hotel we had the suite rooms number 114. Lovely space and would recommend the room but water dripped all night from the air conditioning, a tired hotel in need of updating. Breakfast was perfectly acceptable apart from the staff didn't replace items that had run out. The staff were more interested in laying the tables for dinner.. they didn't see that bowls spoons plates had run out or replenish the pastries, eggs, joghurt. It could have been a very enjoyable breakfast but instead every breakfast was a frustrating experience. Yes I passed on my concern, the next day was better then reverted to the norm. The pool area had a life guard and open bar for 3 days then simply was shut with no note on the bar so we couldn't even get a drink. Many of the loungers were broken. It's almost like the hotel is stuck in the 1990s and nobody seemingly caring. The staff were all very friendly but something is lacking.. It wouldn't take much to change these things and the experience would have been great. Having said that we made the most of our room overlooking the 18th green and Etna. A suggestion also would be is to have a bar menu available in the evening. If you didn't want dinner in the restaurant then all we were offered were ham and cheese toasties! The hotel is quite isolated so options are limited. Please change a couple of these things..it would make such a difference the experience
