"Great choice "
Nice design, feels quite cool considering it's so hot outside in Seville, friendly staff at reception, nice large rooms and bathroom, can't really complain it was a shame pool wasn't open so I never got to go on rooftop, I did however go their sister hotel which had great pool and rooftop, decent location for everything, highly recommended.
"Lovely place but untimely pool maintenance"
We were staying 3 nights in Sevilla. We wanted to stay in a patio house in the centre and this hotel looked the part. We also wanted a pool to cool off in after wandering this fascinating city. It was, mostly. A remodel of this listed structure was cleverly executed in typically creative and tasteful modern Spanish style. It is really boutique with limited services - the main patio being the core area as might be expected. A complimentary afternoon buffet was a nice touch as was a bottle of good cologne in the loo off the patio. The room was a good size, comfortable bed and had a small patio off it with table and chairs for sunny reading. Staff friendly and helpful. It was unfortunate that they were doing maintenance on both the pool and roof sun terrace. More than maintenance - more like open heart surgery. There was building work under way in the building next door. I think this was a substantial drawback for us and the management did not tell us this when checking in. They have two other hotels in Sevilla and could have offered an option to those for whom the pool is important. Location is better for the shopping activity than old town area of Santa Cruz and plaza Espana area. Still good to stay in a patio house rather than just catching glimpses through doorways.
"Feeling Mugged Off"
Long weekend break. We are generously rating our stay 2 star = poor. To be fair, overall I would rate the hotel 3/4 star but this review is specifically about our stay in room # P2; that said the same story simply MUST apply to adjacent rooms. Bottom line - first morning (after a late night) and @ 06.30 (05.30 home time) we were rudely awakened by the most incredible noise that seemed to be coming into the room from all sides. Hard to describe but something akin to a fog horn, complete with vibration, or a wardrobe being dragged across a marble floor. This went on for some time (completely impossible to sleep through it) - then stopped, then started and stopped intermittently for about forty minutes. Same story day two, and same story day three, except (blessed relief) it didn't start until 07.30 on day three so you could say we had lie-in. Back to 06.30 on day one. Nerves shattered we call reception to ask what on earth was happening, only to be told there was "no noise and all is peaceful in reception". Perhaps we should have slept there. To be fair we were offered another room (perhaps too readily) but stupidly we assumed this incredible episode had to be a one off. Wrong! Our stay in magical Seville was tarnished by this accommodation. To cap it off, it's 07.30 day three at the coffee machine in the room following our usual unscheduled unwelcome alarm call and there's no coffee, and no coffee cups. Have a nice day! Assuming anyone has read this far and is planning to stay at the Posado del Lucero, if you get given the keys for room P2 then don't say you haven't been warned. The management of this hotel chain should be ashamed of what they are exposing their staff to every time the keys for room P2 are handed over. There is a serious problem somewhere, most likely with the plumbing, yet they continue to let the room which we feel is disgraceful. We have reviewed lots of hotels and also researched/read many reviews. Please be assured that none of the above is an exaggeration, or a case of us being in any way unreasonable or over sensitive. And no, we do not want to be 'welcomed back in the future' for another stay in this Hotel, we wouldn't stay for free until the plumbing is sorted. Perhaps a member of the management would accept OUR invitation to stay in this room from hell (unlike us, this wouldn't cost anything). Last word, on checking out we were not asked if we had enjoyed our stay/was everything ok with our room as you might expect: we were not surprised!
"Ok stay in Sevilla"
We stayed at Hotel Posado del Lucero for 2 nights during Feria week. This hotel is just OK. It was priced higher due to it being Feria, and not worth the money. The rooms are mostly all internal rooms, and the windows look into the open air hallway, so not much light or ANY view. They also did not have any iron in the room. If you wanted clothes ironed, you had to pay 3-4 euros per shirt! This was very upsetting. We did not do the breakfast as it was totally not worth the money and plenty of local cafes that serve great spanish breakfast. The location is the best part of the hotel, very close walk to all the sights. Probably would have been happier had it not been so expensive during the holiday week.
"You get what you pay for"
Overall good hotel, and up to the standard ofafour star hotel. Location is excellent, and very much enjoyed the cakes brought to the room buy the staff. Free mid afternoon snacks were also fantastic. Overall I would stay at this hotel again.
