"Don't stay here. Period. "
Really old and bad hotel. Makes you feel tired just by entering. Endless corridoors and badly maintained building need a renovation. Way too pricey for the quality of the stay. I wouldn't recommend staying here.
"Easter City Break"
Visited the hotel over Easter .With my sons aged 21 and 7. Hotel staff very helpful ,arrived early and was able to leave suitcases and explore. Hotel is close to buses and train station all within a short walk. Room was ultra clean ,with tea and coffee, iron ect. The only complaint is TVs had no English channels , to occupy my young son. The Buffet breakfast was faultless from the choice you have to the staff. The lifts are a bit small and slow. I would stay here again .
"Great location..slow lifts."
We stayed here over the Easter holidays, We arrived early so had to leave our cases at reception until the 3 o'clock check in time. The hotel is located centrally close to the train station Tivoli garden's and the town centre. Luckily we managed to make use of the free parking over Easter outside the hotel. However ifvwe had to use the hotel parking it was 250dk per day. Pricey. Your better off using the rental bikes from Bycyklen. These are electric so pedalling is so easy. There is a set of these opposite the hotel and all over the city. The room was big and clean and we had 2 bathrooms. I would have preferred one big one and more clothes storage as there was little in our room and most of our clothes stayed in the cases for the 4 days we were there. Breakfast was ok but a bit samey and not cheap. No Danish back bacon, only that awful over cooked dreamy type. I would definitely choose to eat breakfast in one of the many cafes next time.
"Below average - needs a lot of work"
Stayed over Easter weekend and whilst the weekend in Copenhagen was great, the hotel was just a bunch of average moments rolled into one. It's all just a bit 'meh'. The room Comfortable bed - that's the only positive. The rooms are tired, in desperate need of a good clean, a lick of paint and some adjustments. Pieces of wood missing from the skirting board, scuffs and scratches all over the walls and a tiny bathroom with no room to store even a deodorant or toothbrush properly. The shower is terrible too - I could probably get better pressure from dribbling over myself! And the shower leaks everywhere causing a full on Poseidon flood of the bathroom within seconds. It's not that hard to fit a shower properly but judging by other reviews this hotel can't manage it. On one day we had no running water for 6 hours in the evening and we only found out it was a problem in the area by calling reception - it made getting ready for an evening out after a day of full on walking and exploring a very unpleasant experience. When the water finally came back for the next 2 days the pressure was worse and luke warm at best. Breakfast The only reason the overall review gets 2 stars is the breakfast - the bacon was delicious! Location Good location and most sights were within walking distance and there are plenty of supermarkets across the road for your snack and drinks needs. What else is bad' Our key card 'expired' after the second day and we weren't the only ones, maybe invest in some new software guys if you want any happy customers. Overall it was a well below average stay and I wouldn't recommend this hotel to anyone. I fully research my hotels before I travel and we're lucky enough to travel quite a lot - on this occasion I wish I'd listened to the negative reviews I'd read before booking and I'd urge you to do the same.f
"Good breakfast, excellent reception staff... but tiny bathrooms!"
I stayed here over Easter holiday weekend and it was very busy with visitors. The reception staff are very friendly and helpful and I was grateful they accommodated an early check-in. The room was clean and nice enough, no complaints there but there were a few oddities that made me laugh. They took my credit card at check in in case I had anything from the mini bar, but when I got to the room, there was no mini bar... it looked like it had been taken out from the cupboard unit. This was not bothersome, it just made me laugh. What I did notice was that the bathroom space was rather small, there is no where practical to put your own toiletries and lotions and potions, in the shower unit, there as no shelf for the shampoo, shower gel... they just got thrown on the floor. When I took a shower, the water went everywhere and reached by the toilet, it was not contained within the shower area since all the bathroom floor was one level... this was real hazard for me as I slipped frequently as a result and felt these bathrooms were terribly ill-designed by the Danish, a shame. Anyway, I used most of my towels to mop up the water from the floor. I did wonder if all the bathrooms were the same size. The breakfast was delightful and ample, lots of choice of hot and cold foods, loved the bacon and the cheese board. It was a busy weekend and I was able to get a table despite the heavy crowds. The reception staff were very helpful to me on the last day. All the trains at the Central Station to the Airport were cancelled and the hotel staff were really good about getting me a taxi quickly so I didn't miss my flight. The hotel location is close to the central station, Tivoli amusement park, ny carlsberg glyptotek, city hall and the Stroget (shopping street) all within 5-10 minutes walk. The other tourist attractions like Nyhavn, Marmokirken, Papiroen (paper island), Christiania are a good 20-30 minutes walk away. I didn't mind the location since I like walking but it's not city centre exactly.
