"Grand hotel with some improvement needs"
The imperial palace is a very impressive hotel, it has a big entrance with extremely attentive staff who do everything to help you. On arrival we were advised that we were upgraded from the rooms we booked and I had a large room with a large desk, a lot of space and bathroom with bath, shower and a make up desk, but no view on the city unfortunately. We had dinner in the downstairs area which we felt was slightly expensive (although this might be due to the current exchange rate for GBP) and both meals were delicious but only lukewarm. The gym area is very big and almost like a little maze, we had great fun with the massage belts! Some of the machines were already quite old but there were new ones dotted about so it was just luck with what was available when you came in. The pool is large, way larger than I've seen in a while and very clean, but only open until 9.30pm. What I liked was that clothing was provided so everyone was wearing white shorts and blue t-shirts ! Breakfast was outstanding, literally all tastes were catered for, from the typical English fry up to breads, sweet things to clam chowder, beef porridge, fish and steak. All in all a really lovely hotel, in need of some small upgrades but the staff are wonderful and it still is rather impressive!
"Everything's fine except the air conditioner"
The staff were very helpful. The food and drink they provide on the happy hour was much better than breakfast. Better not miss that. The one thing I'm not pleased with is that they DO NOT turn the air-conditioner on. It was muggy and sticky...in April! I heard that Japanese chain hotel wouldn't make this happen. Alright, even if I open the window, I can still hear the traffic on the road, which makes me hard to fall asleep. Last but not least, since this isn't a normal hotel, they should notice the difference between simplified Chinese(used in China) and Traditional Chinese(used in Taiwan, Hong Kong, and Macau). There aren't only Chinese travel to Korea.
"Old hotel! Bad"
This hotel's room is different photo. How can this hotel is 5 starts' I can understand this. Room is too much old and many mirrors. Further Here's service is bad. I wanna refund money. Feeling so bad!!
Reservation wrong, given occupied room. Long long lines and not extremely pleasant. Italian restaurant hurried us out with food and drinks delivered basically together and never delivered bread. Not busy. No excuse
I arrived for a 2 day conference at the Imperial Palace Hotel. Check in was efficient but as I arrived early 9 am, I could only check in at 2 pm. The conceige took care of my baggage while I went exploring. The hotel was very well decorated with antique crockery in old cupboards all over the hotel. This gives a classy look. Perhaps there should be notes on how old the crockery was and their origins would make this place a museum! The room was spacious and clean. Breakfast was sumptious with a wide choice. There is a swimming pool indoors and it was heated making the swim enjoyable in cold weather. The gym looks impressive but I did not use it this time. The ballroom and meeting rooms for the conference was tip top. The organisation was superb. The KAL limousine coach from Incheon Airport stops just outside the hotel and is an added convenience. There is also a nearby subway station.(Hak-dong) Conceige service was excellent with a guide to nearby shops for shopping and dining. Overall an enjoyable stay.
