I spend 5 days in this hotel, the location is great. Restaurants, bars and the beach is very close. The room was big, everything modern and clean, for me perfect nice.! The staff very friendly and helpful. Big thank you David Santos .!!
This hotel is in the center of everything and a great value. The only thing better than the room was the staff. I've been all over the world and have never met a staff that was so accommodating. They really went out of their way to make sure we knew the city!
"good for its rate"
There was a lot of noise at night since its across from the coco bongo night club, but since we were exhausted we sleep through it, we ask for a different room and they gladly did, it has a great location and the staff was nice, i think it was ok for the price we got
"Not what you would expect!"
Total lack of attention to detail. Upon entering the lobby area there is a sewer odor. Along the walls there are air fresheners. The pool is a more of a fountain. It is about 18" deep. Deceptive photography. The seating area at the pool needs to be replaced. Cushions are stained, dirty with signs of mold. First impression is not good.
"OK for the price, clean, friendly but loud & next to a seafood restaurant"
We stayed for two nights over the Xmas holiday. This actually turned out to be one of our better hotels of the trip (really). We did not want a crazy huge and expensive resort but wanted to stay near the main ave./shopping area. We also did not want to spend over $300 a night. This placed checked the boxes. For over the holidays the hotel seemed really quiet. I only saw three or so other couples around through our two nights there. The room was large with a king bed and double shower. It was clean so nothing worried me there. The smell when we first entered was a bit off. I thought it smelled like a cave; kind of dark and damp. I thought it was maybe the cement and rock they used to build with. As we moved closer to our room we noted that the smell was more water/fish like. It became clear this is because they share several walls with a seafood restaurant. The kitchen of the restaurant is literally under the stairway you walk up to the first floor with the pool. It's not over powering and we hardly noticed it in our room (on the pool level), but it was still a little unpleasant. The biggest issue was the noise factor. When we booked the room (through Hotwire) I requested a room in the back after reading the rest of the reviews. We did not think it would be so bad. Once the sun goes down, the sound goes up. On the opposite side of the seafood restaurant is a bar that has live bands that I swear play to 3 or 4 in the morning. Across the street is another club and further up the street is Coco Bongo. If you have been to the area, you know Coco Bongo, ugh. All we heard was thump, thump, thump through the night. It is not the most peaceful experience if you are not a party going animal who stays out to all hours of the night. We just wanted to enjoy the beach and area. Otherwise the location was fine. You are really close to the beach and all the main attractions, shops, food, bars and shopping. The staff were nice. You get free breakfast around the corner at Como Como that was just fine. It is not fancy but you get several options to chose from and plenty of food. It is give or take with this place and what is most important to you (price or a beach view and super quiet (thought that might be hard to find in Playa), or location near everything etc.
