"Excellent room but noisy and inconvenient for Subway"
Loved the modern, large and light room with nice amenities and practical bathroom even though it didn't have a bath. Light and space like this is precious in Manhattan. I must advise to get anhighnroom because the noise at street level is worrying. The location however is poor in relation to the subways and alternative breakfast venues. A walk of several blocks is necessary. The rooftop terrace bar (Press Lounge) is great except for the ghastly doorman on the ground floor. I had some very useful information from Kelsey on how to catch the subway and get to certain places. She's an excellent concierge doubling as a check in lady. All the scaffolding and street appearance is a real turn off but with the good value rate we paid, I can forgive it.
"Classy Customer Service"
Staying at a hotel should make you feel comfortable as if you was staying at home - And thats what INK48 HOTEL supplies. What a treat to come back from working all day to this hotel. The front staff always available and always helping. Shout out to Elijah for making a long stay feel, a lot shorter. :-) You guys deserve to be recognized on a big level and not for just your roof top...Classy.
Kimpton knocked it out of the park once again! I am an inner circle member and was upgraded to a room with one of the best views in the hotel! It was my first stay at Ink48, but I loved it so much I extended my stay by a night! I will definitely be back!
I met my sister up in NYC for a concert at the Highline Ballroom. I decided to go 1 day early to relax a wee bit more. Always needed when leading a hectic life. That said, the location is a bit out of the way, but in a way that lead to it feeling local. That's a good thing. There were people in the lobby meeting up for meetings, local security would come in to use the bathroom and they seems appreciative the staff let them. Even the resturant bar attracted locals who live around the area. It made the hotel feel more like a home. Well done. I was upgraded to a King Premier - sweet! Huge room with a gigantic tub in the middle. I forgot to partake in that but it looked great. The huge window brought in a ton of light to the room too! It was bright and cheery. The first night I did the wine hour and met a few people. Then I checked out the rooftop bar Print Lounge. Interesting. In a way that felt local but in a different way. Being by myself I felt a bit self-concious attempting to chill by myself. LOTS of couples and groups. It opens at 5 and by 5:30 it was packed. Expensive but you are paying for the view. And the view is stunning. Worth it to see. Just go with others. Not by yourself. It was too cool for lil ol' me. Then I decided to go to Print for dinner. I sat at the bar, met a local to my left, a fellow traveler to my right and bantered with the nice bartender. The meal was lovely and cozy and exactly what I was looking for. Food was yummy!! Next day, I hustled and hit the gym (good set up!) and missed the grab and go breakfast so had a lovely meal by the window in Print. So so so pretty! I hunkered down in the lobby doing work while our room was being cleaned. My sister arrived and we chilled. Mid day Ink 48 was quiet. But again that lends to the home away from home feeling. My sister took a 2 hour nap in the room and we got ready for our night out. We hit the wine hour and I introduced her to the people I met the night before. We ended up back at Print and had dinner at the bar. She agreed with me - Good Times! Good food. And funny enough a man we met ended up being a guy who went to our highschool. How random is that'''' Anyhoo - we went to the concert, VH1 Save the Music - George Michael Tribute, danced our butts off and returned to Ink 48 to rest for the night. We slept in, found breakfast and wrapped up our little get away. Good times as always Kimpton! Customer service is so so good - I wish I could work for Kimpton. One day...... OH! I forgot! They have Text customer service. I had never seen that. When I got into the room I got a text message from the front desk asking if I needed anything else. Each day I got a text asking if I needed anything. LOVE the personal touch!
"What's going on'"
The hotel is changing computer systems so the internet isn't working. The TV reception went out & I was told it was due to the rain. Seriously' Location inconvenient unless you have business at the Javits. Definitely kinks that need to be worked out. I will NOT stay here again. Staff is friendly & apologetic but cannot fix the problems.
