Nice location. 1o mins walk to Time Square. Huge and spacious rooms. Fantastic roof top bar. Very helpful and supportive front desk. would go their again. Only complaint is about very different room service hours, like not morning until early afternoon.
Booked this hotel through Virgin Holidays as bed and breakfast, however they failed to tell me that I would be given one voucher per day to the value of 20 USD. On arrival for breakfast it was clear that I could only purchase one hot drink, 2 slices of toast and a small bowl of fruit. In fact the vouchers were only given to me after the first day as the hotel insisted that there is no such thing as bed and breakfast, even though I had paperwork etc from Virgin showing breakfast. The hotel had over priced drinks and snacks such as a small bottle of still water for 9 USD. I can't help but feeling robbed! Don't even give this place a chance.... loads if other hotels in NYC that deserve a chance before this one.
"Beautiful Rooms, Great Service"
We stayed 2 nights with kids. We had to switch rooms after the first night and the staff was very accommodating. The room we had on the 3rd floor was beautiful, big and comfortable, with 2 beds. It just had a terrible view at street level where we could hear every word & car right out the window and we couldn't make the blackout shades work (our problem not theirs). They moved us to another part of the building with a beautiful view of the Hudson River & the Intrepid museum. It was a partial suite with a king bed, and a sofa bed, on the 11th floor. I suspect it cost more than what we signed up for, tho the beds were a compromise --the room was much better. The staff in the hotel were very friendly from the door men, reception and housekeeping. They had a hot cocoa station in the lobby that my kids drooled over each morning. We didn't dine there or see the fun roof deck bar as it was closed for a private event, and well, we have kids. We walked from the hotel to Bryant Park, Rockefeller Center & Times Square ... but it was a far walk for our 5 year old. We usually take the subway when we stay, but I think the nearest one was a few avenues away. The location would be fine for adults/walkers, but not fantastic if you usually hop on & off the subway when you visit the city.
"Holiday NYC 2016"
The hotel was lovely, we where on the 12th floor , had a gorgeous room it was very clean with a very comfortable bed, a good view of the Hudson river. Staff where very friendly and helpful as we had trouble getting the WiFi on our phones etc. The guy on reception sorted it out for us. although I personally didn't hear it my husband complained that he was woken. About 3.30/4am on at least 2 occasions by clubbers leaving a nearby nightclub,
We booked a room at the Ink48 after our Home Away booking fell through. Though it was a little more costly, I have no doubt that the Ink48 provided us with a far better experience. We had a very nice room with a city view. The amenities were excellent including free wine in the afternoon and free coffee in the morning. It's an easy walk to the theaters and the subway. I would definitely stay here again!
