"The best staff ever!"
We stayed in Intercontinental Abu dhabi for three weeks and it was just a wonderful stay. We had a suite and a connected room to it. Its an old hotel but very well kept. With nice pools and nice beachside area called the Bayshore. What made our stay most pleasant was the super extra friendly and hard working staff, especially in the "Selections" restaurant. They always greet you with a smile and make you feel at home. We were at the hotel for Christmas and New Year's eve time and the hotel just went all out to make it festive and happy time for all and especially for the children. They had wonderful decorations, special foods served, and even Santa Claus visited and brought gifts for the kids. I would always like to come back there and would deffinetly recommend it to anyone.
We have a great time in Intercontinental, Abu Dhabi. We have a great view from our room and the facilities and great. The overall staff and excellent especially those who are fixing our room. great job. The foods are excellent.
"old fashioned rooms"
well situated hotel close to Emirates palace and Emirates towers - good service but the rooms are a bit old fashioned and could have a more contemporary design - nothing to fault specifically just a lack of design
"The Best Christmas and New Year ever - we will be back, hopefully sooner than next New Year."
This is the second time my friends and family members have visited the hotel how our yearly holiday and again the hotel did not disappoint. The staff all seem to put 100% effort into all of their work with the goal of making my holiday the best they can possibly make it. I have a lot of 'thank-you's' to say, to some excellent employees that just went the extra mile giving 110%. Our meal in the Fish Market was made very special with the little touches provided by Godwin and Rizza who were very attentive to supporting us with navigating how the restaurant worked, recommending menu choices and then helped us de-bone the fish that were freshly prepared. While we were at the pool and beach area (BayShore), Lawrence was great at ensuring we were kept well hydrated with plenty of fruit drinks and milkshakes for the children at the swim up bar. The other waiters were all very attentive and efficient with our food order, but unfortunately I didn't catch all of their names, but a big thank you to you all. The pool/ tower guys are a great team of employees, including Mubarak Ibrahim, Surya, Krishma, Sandrath and Sagar were all brilliant about issuing towels and ensuring that we were comfortable around the pool and that all guests were safe in the pool. The rules around the pool are strict but rightly so, parents need to ensure that their safety and that of their children are their responsibility and not that of the lifeguards and this applies to all nationalities. Sandrath had to heroically jump in the pool at one point to save a mother who he had had to warn a few times for messing about. Lifeguards have a lot of responsibility and I hope that guests give them the respect that they deserve. In Selections where we had breakfast, some big thank you's have to go out to Milissa, Kenneth and Marty. The breakfast team are brilliant at providing a great service. The buffet was also brilliant and our friends and family were happy to sample breakfasts from a range of countries, which was all new to us and have changed some of our eating habits when we have got home. In Selections on an evening, we had one picky member of the group and Ravi, Sujith, Roman, Marites and Jins George from the kitchen tried their very best to help us as much as possible - this turned a potentially challenging evening into a very enjoyable and memorable one. Finally on our last night we went to the Belgium Beer Cafe and were looked after by Lylit and Mukesh who were brilliant and very attentive. Many thanks once again to the whole team who made our holiday such a success. We will be back!!!
"NEW YEAR AND ANNIVERSARY CELEBRATION"
My family and i arrived late night on the 27th of December exhausted after a 7and half hour flight from London we were looking foward to a good night sleep but this wasnt to be as we had been allocated a smoking room, much to our suprise because we requested a non smoking,(we dont smoke and have a 9year old child) which smelt so bad, their explanation was first come first serve and they were at full capacity due to the christmas period. Luckily we were changed to non smoking room the following day which was pleasant. We particularly enjoyed the walk to the beach area passing by the marina. The beach was lovely only downside was that waiter service was slow,(maybe because of christmas period) The night time entertainment was also very enjoyable with alot of choice of restaurant,in particular our favorite was Chamas a brazillian style with exquisite meat cuts.A special mention to Purna and viver thank you for your wonderful service. We had a wonderful new year celebration in the ballroom with a lovely buffet and drinks included as we stayed on half board basis. entertainment was wonderful, brazillian singer and dancers, there was also a DJ all night he was fantastic. Overall it was an enjoyable stay with a bonus of having the marina mall 5minute taxi ride away.
