"The good, the bad & the ugly"
Just stayed here for 5 nights as a short break in the sun. Very mixed feelings now as the hotel is accommodating tourists, business & locals all at the same time. The good: Club lounge ; check in with Natalia and the staff was amazing and easy. They couldn't do enough for you and the cocktail evenings were fab, well worth the upgrade. Chamas restaurant is a great meat loving experience. The Belgian Cafe is mainly situated outside and is perfect to unwind after your meal. Transport again organised by the club staff was perfect. The Bayshore pool on weekdays was clean, tidy and very accommodating. The bad: All views are of the building site which is also noisy and will last for years. The all inclusive menu is very limited and only has 3 starters & 3 mains. It is very frustrating that you are only offered this menu when wearing the all-inclusive band and if you do then ask for the normal menu your choice is charged in full. (should be just a surcharge)' The Ugly: Weekends (Friday/Saturday). The hotel & bayshore are invaded by locals, who are rude, superior & basically not very nice. By early evening most of the ex pats have had to much to drink and the behaviour is not good. I would suggest if you want a short break then go Sunday to Thursday only. Would actually give it 3.5
"Shockingly disappointing. "
Just arrived oh dear. Tired, nasty rooms if I'm honest. And terrible service, waited forever to be checked in when we had two under twos with us, and then the bathroom was dirty. We stayed at the St Regis last November, which is beautiful hotel and nothing is too much trouble, what a terrible mistake booking here.
The best possible facilities in Abu Dhabi regarding our stay and 3 days conference was the real efforts of hotel staff. They were cooperative in every way. Guiding us in this well built confusing structure. Dr Maqdai won the hearts in holding the conference.
"Home away from home"
Great 18th floor lounge. Staff are wonderful. I stayed there for about six weeks and they treated me like a family member. They are helpful and cheerful. The lounge desk staff will let you check in and check out right there at the lounge and you don't have to wait in lines for the reception downstairs. Check in while sipping on a drink :)
