"Very comfortable stay at this very good hotel."
This was at least our ninth visit to this hotel and another very good stay. The hotel is very comfortable, has some excellent staff and good facilities. As a Spire Elite Ambassador, we were correctly upgraded from a King Club Room with Sea View to a Deluxe Suite (bedroom and separate lounge) with Sea View. In previous years, we had been given a double upgrade to an Emirate Suite but not on this occasion sadly. The 75sqm room was very comfortable and the bathroom had a separate bath and shower. There was a guest WC in the living room, and a microwave in the small bar area. Very comfortable bed. Unusually, the suite had a DVD player, which is great as we often bring DVDs and they can also be borrowed from the Club Lounge. We enjoy the 18th floor Club lounge, which has a great buffet breakfast (with additional hot items on a menu to order) and evening snacks with complimentary drinks: 6:30 - 8:30pm. The wines were of an improved quality from last year and now the staff make cocktail, which is a nice touch and another new addition. Many evenings, the dishes are those that are served in the some of the hotel's restaurants, which gives a good idea of places to eat. The Club Lounge allows you to have breakfast in the calm of the lounge rather than the restaurant, which can get busy with many guests are on All Inclusive packages. The Afternoon Tea service had changed from previous years and is now served at the table on an impressive stand - very tasty! See the photos below. The key highlight is the great service from the Club Lounge reception and waiting staff, many of whom have been here for some years. There is always a warm welcome and genuine interest in ensuring that guests enjoy themselves. The staff do make a real effort and their help and assistance is always appreciated. I did write to the GM to pass on my thanks to specific individuals but was surprised not to have received a response. I hope the staff received my thanks and praise. As usual, we enjoyed the Bayshore Beach Club, which has a pool, beach and dining/bar facilities. We had chicken wraps one afternoon, which were satisfactory rather than great. The construction on the man made island in front of the beach may increasingly become an eye sore with likely noise disturbance. There is also a nice pool on the 3rd floor of the hotel. A few disappointing housekeeping issues were experienced and I escalated them. In conclusion, a very nice hotel, with some very good staff.
I stayed in Intercon with my 2 friends, the hotel is in a wonderful location with a nice swimming pool and a private beach, service was good and room as well. I am looking forward to my next stay at tjis place which is gonna be soon inchallah.
"Return visit was just as good"
My wife and I enjoyed a week of relaxation and rejuvenation at the Intercontinental hotel Abu Dhabi in May 2016. It was our first visit to the city but we didn't actually leave the hotel once between being dropped off and leaving. The choice of pools, bars and restaurants was more than sufficient for what we needed. The weather was hot then. We enjoyed it so much we decided to return for a second, slightly longer trip in March 2017. Some members of staff remembered us, which was nice. Martin who had been working in the pool bar last time ran over to see us with a beaming smile and warm welcome. The hotel was busy with a lot of different events, business meetings and tourists alike. Food was good. Weather was mixed with a number of days where the umbrellas could not be used as it was so windy. Although it was cloudy it was easy to burn!! All in all, everything was great and we enjoyed our stay. We even managed to get out and about. A visit to the Grand Mosque is recommended although there is not as much to see and do as there is in Dubai. We would definitely return.
Our experience at this property was awesome. We were greeted warmly and checked in by Amr Tarek and Marta (Marta has only been here 6 months). He is a professional's professional. He gave us a great room and took time and care to explain all the amenities in the hotel, key sites to visit, etc.. This includes a very wide range of offerings, multiple restaurants, fitness, shows. The executive lounge was very good and the service was excellent. The spread and offerings were fully appreciated. This is a hotel I would highly recommend and will definitely stay at, during my next visit to Abu Dhabi.
"Hospitality was second to none"
We were welcomed at the front desk by Jeffrey, he was lovely very sweet and ensured we had a great room. The range of facilities including gyms and sauna were impressive. The most impressive feature however was the number of restaurants on site, you'd never need to leave the hotel vicinity! Breakfast was great, good range of all different cuisines. If staying in Abu Dhabi would highly recommend this hotel as it is quite reasonable considering the rating of the hotel and its amenities.
