"Aqaba's best hotel"
This hotel is very clean and have welcoming atmosphere. The staff were very polite and supportive. The room and facilities were very clean and the room service was excellent and the free internet is excellent. It was a business trip and attended a training in the hotel, the arrangements and the meeting room were very good especially the service. The pools were clean and the facilities are great. I used the spa and it was very refreshing and there are Jacuzzi, sauna and steam and all working very well. The food were good and I enjoyed 3 meals a day and all was amazing with good variety.
"The best hotel in aqaba"
I love this hotel everytime i go there i love it more and more , excellent service, friendly and helpful staff the food is wonderful and clean also the beach and the pool Highly recommended every one should live the intercontinental hotel life :)
Nice hotel, large and clean rooms, beautiful view from balcony. Friendly staff and good services. Breakfast is almost perfect, pork products are missing from the buffet and coffee is really bad. Swimming pool area has a nice design but unfortunately at the opening time in the morning ashtrays are dirty, leafs and birds feathers are floating on the surface. The deck chairs mattresses are dirty and the swimming pool towels are not long enough to cover the chair length. Too many local families with plenty kids screaming all day long "baba-baba"! The same thing is on the beach. So if you are looking for tranquility and peace just forget it in this hotel. In Aqaba only few hotels has their own beach. Next to this hotel is Kempinski, think I'll try it next time.
"They discriminate between American and other nationalities"
Every time I stay at the Intercontinental Aqaba I discover that the hotel is degrading in quality and service. The most imminent degradation is when the hotel started to discriminate between Americans and people from other nationalities (including Jordanian) at the Executive Lounge. In the past, all people who have access to the Executive Lounge used to have the same meal in the same place. Recently, the hotel decided that Americans, and more precisely people who work at the American Embassy, deserve quality service and better meals and more elite service, while other people, including those loyal IHG members deserve no more than rotten meals and boiled eggplants. This is a dark patch in the history of the hotel. The hotel has terribly increased its prices. They do not know that their neighbour, the Kempinski Hotel, is of a much higher standards that cannot be competed by any other hotels in Aqaba.
"So crowded and rooms definitely need renovation"
Our stay was average. But definitely not up to the standards of the intercontinental hotels. It was so crowded and people from everywhere were checking in. We were then told that they give special promo prices for certain organizations. That's why it was like a rest house or inn with the quality of people coming to stay. The worst part is the lack of non smoking policy inside and outside the hotel. People were smoking everywhere. In the lobby, inside rooms (as you can smell smoke when passing by the guests rooms). And you never find a non smoking sign whatsoever. This was really shocking to me. Breakfast was good, not the best you can get. It was boring because everyday during our 5 nights stay we had the same dishes over and over. The beach was clean which and we were able to enjoy it. The pools were so crowded and getting in water was so uncomfortable so we simply skipped on that and stayed on the beach.
