"Great stay- Tu and Trang"
Used this hotel as a base stay during our two week trip to various locations in Vietnam. Great rooms and the best part is they have a handy washer dryer in the room. Although the drying part took a few cycles to dry our clothes we didn't mind. It was better than not having a washer/dryer at all. Front desk was very accommodating and we didn't experience any construction noise throughout our three stays. We did request a quiet room in advance as well. Best part of our stay was the bellman Tu and front desk agent Trang. Tu is genuinely courteous and you can tell he enjoys working here. He gave us some great advise on travels and foods to eat. He definitely made our stay fantastic. Trang helped me with my shopping advice and did it with a fantastic smile. All in all it was great. P.s- the pho at basilico was surprising good.
Our very nice apartment looked into the building next door which is a shell on which work continues seemingly seven days a week on the interior. The noise from the adjacent building is not bad but for those who are light sleepers it could be a problem as they work very long hours, even on Sunday. I assume the work on the adjacent building will be completed shortly, perhaps a month, and when it is done the apartment will rate at least 4, perhaps 4.5 stars. The gym in the building is very nice and they had a special rate for breakfast at the hotel which the apartments access through a nice restaurant and banking center. The concierge at the hotel offered us assistance whenever we needed help. Internet was free and the connection was fast.
"Great apartments but prices rising "
I've stayed in these apartments on a number of occasions in the last few years. They are a great alternative to the hotel with so much extra space and amenities including cooker, microwave and washer/dryer. Large balcony, but make sure you ask for a city view. Weekend rates are good value but midweek rates have been creeping up and are not great value.
"Top notch facility"
My husband and I spent 4 nights at the Intercontinental Residences. This by far was our favorite of all of our stays in 7 different hotels while on a 23 day vacation in Vietnam. The one bedroom, non-smoking, apartment is very spacious. It has the most comfortable (king size) mattress by far of any in Vietnam and rivals any top mattress that we have experienced on our yearly travels outside of the USA. The bathroom has two sinks with counter top space. A large walk-in shower with rain shower head as well as hand-held shower head and a free-standing tub. Separate toilet room. Large flat screen TVs in both bedroom and living room. It has an open concept kitchen - dining room (table with 6 chairs) - living room. Excellent free internet connection and speed. We were able to stream Netflix without difficulty. Also present is a washer/dryer. The Residences are connected to the Intercontinental Hotel. We went there for breakfast (very reasonably priced) the first day before we were able to go to the supermarket. We also found the next day that it is connected to a small mall that has multiple restaurants, a small grocery convenience store, and a Starbucks coffee shop. I would highly recommend. (I think this complex has a spa but many private businesses to obtain quality massages are near-by at a lower price.)
Stayed for 4 weeks around Tet in 3-bed apt, & really happy with this find. Lovely, clean & big-sized living area (with huge dining table), well-equipped kitchen, & seriously comfortable beds. Decent gym with a range of machines, poolside service until 4pm, nice sauna/steamroom (although separate for m/f). Televisions are rather small, and look even tinier as the rooms are huge, and the floor area around the swimming pool is VERY slippery when wet (badly need to replace with non-slip flooring, personally saw several kids (including my own) slip and fall, thankfully nobody badly hurt) but otherwise this place was absolutely fantastic, great location near everything in D1, together with (best of all) Intercontinental level of service, front-desk all had great English and so helpful (with special thanks to Nguyen Thi Minh Tam for being so good with our little boy when he hurt his knee). We definitely look forward to staying here again the next time a family gathering is planned.
