"Perfect place to be at in HCMC"
Looking at the various 5 star equivalent hotels nearby, there isn't one that provides this level of homeliness at InterContinental Residences. The room is about 78 sqm, which is big for a 1 bedroom apartment. The living hall has a open kitchen concept, consists of a dry kitchen, microwave, fridge, and a deep washing area. It has a dining table with 6 chairs, a sofa set of two and a 1 metre square table in the middle of the living hall. It has full surround sound system and a TV entertainment system. The bedroom is equipped with a TV as well, and have separate toilet from the shower, the bathroom have got a bathtub as well, a king size bed is fitted in the room with a working table by the side. The room set up was comfortable and spacious. For small families and friends, you might consider this apartment for your trip in HCMC, it is centralised in District 1, there are sufficient amenities nearby or even on the ground floor on the residence. Just to name a few, if you need a coffee fix, there are Starbucks and Coffee Bean on the ground floor, there are not 1 but 3 dessert cafes on the ground floor, with an upcoming cinema, CGV. 5 minutes walk from the residences, you will arrive at Vincom center, where there is a supermarket, cinema, restaurants and many international labels such as Zara, French Connection, Lock & Lock, Paris Baguette and many more. On the 3rd floor of the residence, you can find the Gym, Swimming pool, Steam room and Sauna room. You have unlimited access to it up to 10pm every day. The gym is fully equipped, and hardly crowded. I love my experience thus far, with hotel restaurants available for room service such as Basilico, Brozeit and more. I would definitely recommend this place to travellers which have a higher budget and would want to stay together within an apartment.
"Excellent place in middle of city"
We are a family of four including 2 kids and were visiting Ho Chi Minh city (HCMC) for first time. We were little skeptical about quality of accommodation. However, we were pleased with excellent quality of Intercontinental residences. We took 2 bed room apartment. It was nicely furnished. We enjoyed our daily breakfast in hotel restaurant. The hotel and residence buildings are next to each other surrounded by Starbucks and many restaurants to eat. Best place to stay in HCMC if you are visiting for sight seeing or business.
"Just What One Would Expect From An InterContinental"

"A Fistful of Grumbles"
We spent Christmas visiting my son, who is working in Vietnam. I wanted an apartment for my wife and I and our 14 year old daughter, rather than 2 hotel rooms. So, being an IHG member, I booked a 'special offer at the start of October through IHG's website : $ 1879 for a 7 nights stay. That's when the fun started ... 1) Out of interest, I immediately checked the price for the identical booking on Hotels.com : it was $ 1394. I cancelled the IHG booking within an hour of making it ( 1 nights stay penalty later ) and mmediately booked the same reservation on Hotels.com. 2) I twice requested ( by e-mail through IHG and Hotels.com) a high floor, facing the front ( see other reviews) , but never got confirmation of this from the hotel. 3) Ignoring these warning signs, we arrived at this fine residence from Cambodia on Christmas eve, in the late afternoon. Traveling light, I had not packed my 3 piece suit and fedora, but was wearing long pants and a collared shirt. So, I stood patiently at check-in whilst an assistant manager and her 2 minions dealt with a guest ,and then with 2 further people who had walked up to the desk after my arrival. At this stage my systolic blood pressure was reaching critical levels, so I approached the desk and asked for some help. My booking could not be found, despite me giving minion # 1 my printed Hotels.com confirmation page and passport.... The IHG cancellation was on their system, but the actual booking was elusive. Finally the assistant manageress deigned to assist the receptionist and me, at which time I chatted to her about customer service. To her credit, she handled my grumpiness very well. The reservation was located, and we we allocated a room on the 18th floor , at the back, overlooking the construction site... 4) The hotel then "borrowed" more than $ 2000 from my credit card as security, and advised me that this would be returned / refunded in 3 - 4 time. What a wonderful way to raise working capital and to make interest from your clients' funds. 5) My inquiry about another room was rebuffed with "they are occupied by long-term residents". 7 of 10 apartments / floor do not face the construction site, and there are about 25 floors. BTW: Most of the ' occupied ' front facing rooms remained in darkness throughout our week-long stay. 6) The apartments are well - appointed. However, although advertised as suitable for 3 people, occupant no 3 has a choice of sleeping on a sofa, or paying $ 45 a night to sleep on a folding camp bed. These beds retail for $ 70 to $ 100 in HCMC, so the hotel covers its investment in 2 nights... 7) The construction team decided to wish us all a Happy Christmas at 02:00 on 26th December , using a bulldozer and hammers to re-arrange steel girders for an hour or two. 8) Spending a week in a beautiful city on annual leave, I had visualized enjoying panoramic city views, and taking time-lapses of sunrise and sunset with my GoPro. Well, the ANZ building situated 50 meters away and at least 30 stories high put paid to that indulgence. Pics below are straight out of our room. Summary : If you like paying a 35% premium to book this hotel through your IHG loyalty benefits, and then like having your hard earned cash being '"borrowed " by IHG for a month, in exchange for a large apartment with no view and nocturnal construction noise, then this hotel will be ideal for you. You might also like to pay extra for a camp bed for your additional guests in your party, or even consider buying your own for a 3 night stay or longer. If not, I would strongly recommend that you look elsewhere.
"Large spacious 2 bedroom suite"
Very large 2 bedroom suite beautifully appointed with 2 bathrooms, full kitchen and laundry facilities in district 1. It is linked to the main Intercontinental hotel which is great as they have a spa. Facility includes outdoor swimming pool and fitness centre. Concierge was very helpful in arranging spa treatments and tours. Would definitely stay here again and recommend particularly to groups (e.g a family or two couples)
