Neat, clean and superb. Stayed there for three nights and miss those days very much. Staff was very friendly. It's in the middle of town. Next to sky train. Bar and lounge is nice to relax. If u go to Bangkok with family must stay here.
Looking great for an old building. Front Office colleagues and Concierge were ever helpful. They noticed that our birthdays were a week apart whilst updating our passport details and arranged a nice cake in the room. Was really not expecting anything. The wish was great enough. Well equipped gym.
"Not feeling welcome"
I have stayed 12 times past 3 years at the Intercontinental hotel in Bangkok and always enjoyed my stays. However this time I really didn’t feel welcome at all and my stay (actually the response from staff and management) was deeply disappointing. I had made reservation for an Executive Deluxe Room. The hotel website clearly says that the room comes with specific benefits, one of which is access to the Club Lounge. When I checked in I had to do so at the "regular" desk, not even the IGH Club desk, let alone the check-in at Club level. I was not recognised as IGH member or Ambassador member. When I asked for upgrade I was told that this hotel is of luxury category and doesn't apply upgrades. I was told that if I wanted access to the Club Lounge I could purchase access at THB 1,200 a night (again, the hotel website says you have access with this room). I didn't even find a welcome letter or welcome gift in the room. The Assistant Front Office Manager did not take my complaint serious and came with an explanation that my upgrade consisted of High floor room, complimentary breakfast in Espresso restaurant, Happy hour in balcony lounge, 20% discount on food and beverage excluding in room dining and mini bar, 20% discount on laundry, 20% discount on business center. Most of these I had already paid for as it comes with the Executive Room. Front desk staff kept reiterating that rules have changed and they don’t upgrade anymore I kept coming back to the Intercontinental hotel in Bangkok because I really enjoy views from the lounge. That’s why I again booked a room with lounge access. I felt cheated because I was refused access unless I pay an additional amount and the fact that front desk staff doesn't even recognise Ambassador members is disappointing. There are plenty of excellent 5 star hotels in direct vicinity of the Intercontinental. Will book of these next I am in Bangkok.

"Amazing introduction to Bangkok"
This is a wonderful hotel situated centrally in downtown Bangkok. Close to the sky train walk way and many shopping attractions. The all day Resturant serves an amazing breakfast and buffet lunch with so many food options. Service was exceptional and friendly and our room was spacious and had everything we needed.
