"Exquisite hotel in Berlin"
Spent a week at the Intercontinantal Hotel in Berlin for a major conference in May 2017. The hotel is situated in the centre of Berlin being an excellent location from which to explore the city. The hotel is rather old (built in 1958) but has been renovated very delicately and today is a modern large 5 star hotel. The hotel staff was very friendly, helpful and super efficient. During the stay the very fine coffee brewer in the room suffered a malfunction (these things happen..). Having reported it to the hotel staff I had a new coffee brewer within 10 minutes working from a normal power socket - and within 1 hour a technician had installed it properly to the appropriate socket behind the fridge. The room was immaculate with all the normal conveniences you would require - all being of high quality. The breakfast buffet had the same high quality as the rest of the hotel. The selection was one of the best I have seen and everything was fresh and delicate. All in all I had a very fine stay at the Intercontinental in Berlin and I certainly can recommend it.
"Superb location, excellent amenities, high quality service."
Superb location within walking distance of premier shopping district and of major tourist attractions.Bedrooms are clean, spacious and well equipped. The communal facilities too, are impressive. Indoor pool, spa, bar and elegant restaurant. The resourceful concierge gave us a comprehensive briefing on how best to experience Berlin. Overall, the exceptional quality of staff service is remarkable.
"Excellent service in a perfect location"
The room was good, but the service during my stay here was really the high point. Every member of the staff that I interacted with was excellent, and some really went above and beyond what I expected. The location of this hotel is also another selling point. It is a short walk from the Zoo and excellent shopping streets, with many services and restaurants nearby. I highly recommend it.
"Great centrally located hotel"
Very nice hotel. Appeared to be in use for several large scale business conferences and tour groups. Room was nice, although dated, great shower (particular hairdryer was a nuisance). Unfortunately for a full price room, we had absolutely no view out the window except the back of another building. Perfect hotel from which to see much of Berlin. Walked the 2 miles down to Brandenburg Gate several times and toured around. Hotel backs up to the Tiergarten, a lovely park. The breakfast was outstanding, the bar Marlene's was very accomodating and everyone was very gracious, from check-in until check-out.
"The Team are not up to Intercontinental standards"
Location excellent right next door to the zoo and a short walk from great shopping and the beautiful park leading to all the major sights, the breakfast buffet extensive and very high standard, and our kids room was really smart and well appointed. But.... we had a suite with adjoining door to our kids room and our suite was a huge let down, dull in colour and lighting, no luxury at all but simply a room adjoining our small and dull bedroom. We would far rather have had our kids room, which was a standard room but far nicer, colorful and bright with a wonderful bathroom. But what really let the hotel down was the reception staff. They were rude and lacking any desire to help in any way, slow and argumentative with a big attitude problem. Both my husband and I have stayed there for corporate stays, but will never stay there again otherwise
