Great place for combining business and pleasure - great location with food, bars and pleasure close by. Mall and golf in adddition - try to get a High location of room to Enjoy the view over Georgia !!!
The wife and I were in town for a getaway and really enjoyed our stay. We were on the top (22') floor and enjoyed the complimentary food and drinks on the floor below. The staff takes the time and makes the effort to greet you and make you feel comfortable. Great staff through and through. I did notice a few too many female escorts or the like on Saturday evening. It was more than obvious. A little unexpected. A good value overall.
"The hotel was good, but the service at the bar was very weird..."
I stayed at the Intercontinental in Buckhead for three days for a conference. The hotel was totally fine and the accommodations, in room dining, and housekeeping services were in line with The Intercontinental's standards. However, I had an odd experience at the bar on Friday night. A friend and I met for drinks. Randy was our waiter and bar tender. When we were first sat, he was fine but it got a lot busier quickly. We asked him for the check and it took more than 20 min for him to bring it. When we inquired about the status of our check, he said "I'll get to you. I have no time for this now." Then, when he finally came over, we said split the check in half and we gave him two credit cards. He took another 15 minutes to return our cards to us with the receipts. We realized that he charged one card twice and did not charge the other at all, so we went back up to him to show him his error and ask that he run the cards again and evenly split the bill. He grumpily said again, " I have no time for this" and he took $20 out of his pocket and gave it to my friend who was charged for the whole bill. How weird was that' I'm the one that ended up with the free drink, but I was happy to pay for my drink and really did not appreciate the brush off from the bartender. It was a really weird encounter!
"Keeps being a great hotel, some minor flaws"
The good: staff positive attitude to help if you need it, This time I had a minor issue with an incoming package and the concierge, Joan, was outstanding in terms of getting it solved, with great dedication and passion for service, I was very positively impressed. Overall staff attitude keeps being a plus. Opportunities: on this trip, two things. First, after my first night, my room was not cleaned, when I returned, everything was as I left early in the morning. Not a big miss, since there was not so much to do (just the bed and bathroom). The second is the shower head, as it happens to be with many hotels, it was not on its best condition, so it needs to be changed. In room dining very good, one dessert was not available, though (asked two different days for it).
"Linda (at the front desk) significantly helped my visit to be a great one"
This was my 1st visit to the InterContinental Buckhead Atlanta; attended a medical meeting February 16th thru 18th. The 1st person that I met was "Linda" at check-in at the front desk. As I recall, she was from West Africa, Cameroon to be exact, and it was my pleasure to meet her. She was charming, obviously passionate about her job, very willing to go to great lengths to explain this and that, and she made my check-in (and check-out) to be unbelievably pleasurable. I sincerely hope that you go to great lengths to 'reward' her and keep her in your ranks. Congratulations to Linda for a job well done.
