"Centrally located hotel in Budapest"
We stayed at this IC hotel for our first visit to Budapest and loved it. The hotel is centrally located which allowed us to explore the city easily. It’s steps away from the Chain Bridge and right across from the Spoon Restaurant and 5 minutes walk from the Vorosmarty Ter metro station which is where the Millennium Underground begins, and Vaci utca, the main shopping street. It’s within walking distance to the Parliament building, the Great Market Hall, the Buda Castle and the Fisherman’s Bastion. The concierge was very helpful, even before we arrived they were very responsive to our emails and provided us with very specific instructions on how to get to the hotel from Keleti station. The room, although small but is nice and clean. The pool is indoor and it looks average but the staff was very nice and attentive to our needs. When the hotel staff found out that we were celebrating our anniversary on this trip, they brought us a complimentary bottle of champagne. We enjoyed our stay!
Very comfortable hotel with lovely bed linens, well appointed bedrooms and bathrooms and beautiful public spaces. Stayed here on a conference trip. The breakfast was the best I have had, with a comprehensive selection of cooked and continental items. There is a lovely outside restaurant overlooking the Danube perfect for a drink or meal. The best asset however is the hotel staff team, all polite and efficient.
"Solid Business 5 Star"
A good business hotel, in an ugly 70s brown building. The check in was slow, they appear to get large groups of American tourists, but the staff are friendly and helpful. The room was a decent size, but only 1 bottle of water and with no separate shower. There is a swimming pool, but it's tiny. However the spa looked nice and the steam and sauna were good. It's worth noting there were a lot (10+)of working girls just outside the hotel on the 2 nights (Friday and Saturday) I was there. Amusingly 40,000 when we were heading out at 11.30 and 25,000 when we were returning after 3. In summing up, good hotel, central location, stay if you get a deal.
We stayed here as part of the Gate 1 travel group. The location, rooms, service, breakfast were all ideal, so I would have given a 5 star rating without the additional experience I summarize below! What really surprised/impressed me was that after I gave my intercontinental membership number, I expected the receptionist to say "we are sorry, we cannot change anything with group travel reservations" which is the usual answer in many places. But not here! They honored my membership, upgraded my room and offered late check out. Even though our luggages were scheduled to go to the original room which the tour manager arranged, they showed up quickly to the new room! To top all that, we received a champagne bottle with anniversary wishes to celebrate with my husband! Wow. I am sorry I did not take down the name of the receptionist and couldn't find him again before we left the hotel. Thank you for your kindness, gentleman, whoever you are that helped me. I hope this message somehow finds you! I am staying only at this hotel when/if I return to Budapest!
Stayed here for two nights and it was lovely Got checked in early due to being an IHG member. Booked a deluxe river view room and it was worth every penny. Room had huge bed and sofa in it. Was able to enjoy wonderful views of the chain bridge which was spectacular at night. Hotel staff very helpful Breakfast a feast. Has everything you could possibly wish for. I would stay at this hotel again and highly recommended it.
