"Pleasant and white"
Carlton cannes is at the top in the area. The rooms and the suites are very nice. One of the top elements of this place is the breakfast at the terrace. After the breakfast you could walk along the beach to the right or the left :)
The Carlton is a magnificiant hotel. All the charm of nice French architecture, outside and inside, excellent service, and a amazing view on the Croisette. Restaurants in the hotel are very good, with great service again. Go there you won't get disapointed.
My room looked over trash dump and not the Med but still this was a very nice place. Excellent buffet breakfast. Great location. Service was very good. An afternoon latte in their outdoor cafe overlooking the Med was 13 EU even though the menu they gave me said it was 10 EU. stayed here as part of package with Globus tours. I'd stay there again for sure
"my stay at the iconic InterContinental Carlton Cannes"
The setting for this trip : right in the heart of the celebrated croisette, facing the Mediterranean, I stayed at the legendary InterContinental Carlton Cannes hotel. Flying from Paris to Nice, it takes less than an hour to reach Cannes via taxi or shuttle from Nice airport. If Cannes is known all over the world for hosting one of the most glamorous film festivals, the city also has a reputation for having some truly exceptional hotels – the planet’s movie elite need a decent place to stay when travelling, after all… One of those hotels is the InterContinental Carlton Cannes, which hosted this year’s Heart Fund gala dinner during the film festival, attended by Leonardo DiCaprio among others. With over 100 years of history on the French Riviera, the InterContinental Carlton offers quite a unique experience under the Mediterranean sun : 343 rooms and suites, restaurants, bars, boutiques, a gorgeous terrace – and, my favourite part, a private beach of fine sand with its own iconic jetty. Most of my time was spent on the uber chic private beach, where the great and friendly staff make sure you are comfortable and have everything you require at all times, in order to appreciate the refined atmosphere – comparable to the inside of the hotel, where yesterday’s charm and spirit mix with today’s expectations.
"Our stay at the Carlton"
Nice hotel, lovely rooms if you like old world charm, food is very good,( it is expensive). Great location right across the street from the sea. I normally treat myself to a spa treatment when I go to a nice hotel, save your money and have your spa treatment elsewhere. It was €180 for a facial, it was basic to say the least, in fact the steamer malfunctioned while it was steaming my face and spurted out boiling drops of water which landed on my neck. I was supposed to have a hair wash and blow dry after, we waited 20 minutes for the water to heat up during which time they offered that I could have my hair washed in cold water, or, they could boil a kettle and somehow try to heat the water, or, I could wash my hair myself in my room, I'm sorry but for €56 for a blow dry, I expect better then any of these options. I eventually left at which time the water was starting to heat a little. The hotel is very nice, the meals are very good, the spa is something I would expect of a Holiday Inn, not the Carlton at Cannes, don't charge those prices if you can't deliver the service.
