"A great hotel with an excellent location"
We stayed two nights in this wonderful hotel and had a so called Superior Room which was very spacious and stepping out on the “balcony” you were even able to have a partial view on the ocean. It was a special offer that I had purchased via an Internet supplier which included breakfast that, if you take the buffet is at € 42.00 p.p. The service was excellent from the beginning to the end and especially at breakfast buffet (which has free champagne on offer) Gilles was an excellent host to us. Even though it was off-season period the hotel was very well visited, nevertheless, all employees of the hotel were always immaculately polite and helpful. I can only praise the omelette – it was one of the best I ever had. Some small things that I found a little disturbing were the shower and the bathtub of our bathroom. The shower was not very spacious and the bathtub way too short, and I am of normal height (1.80m) and size. You will also find a Nespresso machine in your room, but the capsule is being charged at € 1.00 each, first time I saw that in such a hotel. Personally, as I have read in many comments the hotel may need some renovation, which they are also in process of doing, but it was not, at least were we have been scruffy or dirty at all. If you log into the internet as hotel guest you will be asked to choose a certain access speed for which you will then be charged up to €25.00/day. I have read in one client comment that, when logging in as not being a guest you have a free access to Wi-Fi. Unfortunately there was a Real Estate conference/fair in Cannes prior to our arrival and the hotel had still these ugly green banners of a bank hanging down that beautiful façade. Disappointing for such a hotel to us was that it has no swimming pool, but we got told that this is in process of being built. If you get there by car and use the hotel parking facilities, Yo will be charged €45.00/day, which I found a bit upscale. Overall, we will return to this wonderful place.
"Expensive but worth it"
An imposing building right on the sea front in the centre of Cannes, this is pricey but lovely. We paid to upgrade to a sea view room and it was worth every Euro to throw open the full length windows and look over the wrought iron balcony across the beach to the sea. Charming traditional French decor , big comfortable beds. The only slight niggle was the loo, which in typical French manner was situated separately from the bathroom ( good!) in a room the size of a cupboard ( not so good - sat on the loo you could bump your knees on the door!). That didn't detract from the sense of indulgence. The staff are friendly and charming. Given we paid handsomely for the room it seemed curmudgeonly to charge 4 euro for coffee for the nespresso machine- but that's big corporations for you! If you want a weekend of indulgence this is the place!
Good breakfast. Super friendly staff. Good location close to the croisette. Superior room has lost of space. Good beds, bathroom is small compared to the room. Very clean hotel. No swimmingpool available but there is a fitness room.
"A Mini Break"
Flew out to meet my husband who had been in Cannes at an exhibition all week. We were lucky enough to get upgraded to a beautiful room with a balcony and a sea view. Lovely fresh fruit and a selection of lovely drinks were left in our room upon arrival. There was very good maid service twice a day, with a turn down service in the evening, and fresh towels twice a day.Lovely complimentary toiletries in the room, which were also replenished twice a day. The hotel is located in a great position with the beach across the road and an abundance of wonderful restaurants and fabulous shops in close vicinity. We were also lucky enough to blessed with gloriously sunny weather for mid March, so were able to eat our breakfast on the restaurant terrace of the hotel, which was a real treat. Breakfast was buffet style with plenty to choose from, plus the added option of choosing to have freshly cooked eggs any style of choice. We also had had tea on the terrace one afternoon, with the choice of some really delicious cakes. The hotel in my opinion one of the best (if not the very best) in Cannes, has an old charm appeal and is elegant in style. The table of fresh flowers in the reception were a beautiful and colourful sight to behold. All but one of the staff were extremely polite helpful and friendly. My only complaint would be when I arrived my mobile phone was not working and I was panicking a little as I did not know where I was meant to meet my husband. I asked if she could call him for me from reception, only to be rudely told that not she couldn't and I should use the phone in my room when I checked in, not quite the reply I would expect in a hotel such as this, but as I said the rest of the staff were very good, and I managed to find my husband, despite of my mobile not working the whole time we were there. An all too short visit this time, but as Cannes is one of my favourite places in the world, it won't be too long before we return.
"Opulent. Old world charm "
Excellent hotel right on the croisette! Service very good but because it has a constant crowd they don't need to give you the full 5 star treatment. It's a little robotic at times. The entrance foyer is lovely.
