"Great location, Great stays, 5 star property"
I have stayed here dozens of times over the last 10 years and I can say without a doubt that it has been the most consistently positive experience for any hotel i have ever stayed. Is it perfect' ... well nothings perfect but it is thr best value I think among 5 star properties in the Beverly Hills / Century city area. I'm a Spire Royal Ambassador and I always feel they do their very best to make every stay memorable and treat me with rewarding expereiences from room upgrades to many other little special touches including excellent responsive service and personal care ans attention. Great location, Great rooms, great staff. Hopefully they will one day have a club lounge as do many Intercontinentals around other world. They recently added buffet breakfast which is a huge bonus... but as a small bit of feedback... if i compare to other buffet breakfasts at other Intercontinentals and 5 star properties... though the restaurant is beautiful they would be well served to focus on quality of dishes over "quantity of selection"
"Disappointing service experience across many levels"
This hotel has some positives - the rooms are large and the breakfast buffet is great. However, I had a service failure which will cause me to choose one of the many other good hotels in the area on my next visit to LA. I was looking to take a shower at 10:15 at night and, when I turned it on, I discovered that the shower didn't work - specifically, not a drop of water came out. They sent maintenance up and he said - "boy, this is the worst one of these that I have seen, you need to get another room", indicating that they have frequent problems with the showers. I called the service line and was told that they would have a key for a new room delivered in 5 to 10 minutes. i called 10 minutes later and was told that a large group was checking in and it would be another 5 minutes. I again 10 minutes later and was told that other new guests had arrived and were in line and it would be a few more minutes. As I was anxious to get to my new room and get some sleep, I went down to reception and got in line. When I got to the front (5 minutes later), I was told no one at the desk knew anything about my problem. The first front desk person went to the back room and never came back. The second front desk person said he didn't know how to fix the problem. Finally, the third front desk person was able to get me a room five minutes later. I went back up and gathered my belongings from my suite and, when I went to my new room, I discovered that had been rebooked into a smaller, standard room. It was an hour from the time I reported the problem to the time I got to my new room. For all of my problems, I was comped a free breakfast. This raises a series of service questions - Why didn't housekeeping report that the shower didn't work when they cleaned the room - did they even clean the shower' Why didn't the woman manning the service desk ever communicate the issue to the front desk and why was my problem viewed as a lower priority than checking in guests who arrived 15 minutes after I had reported that I needed a new room' Why did it take three front desk agents to solve the problem' Where was the manager during all of this' Why was I given a smaller room without a conversation' Is a free breakfast sufficient compensation for an hour’s worth of hassle and a room downgrade' Any hotel can have a maintenance issue and any hotel can have a singular service failure but the breadth of this failure (housekeeping, the service line, the front desk, the manager) combined with the minimal compensation for the problems causes me to strongly recommend that you stay elsewhere.
The hotel is very nice, however need to update rooms with microwaves and mini fridge. We requested microwave and was given one asap. The fridge in the room was used the items for sale. Top notch staff, from valet to bellman to concierge and front desk.
The hotel and location is great. I would highly recommend. The hotel service by all of the staff was truly stand out. We had a relaxing break and enjoyed the hospitality and facilities of the hotel. The car valet service is to be recommended too, very efficient. I would definite stay here again.
"Great Stay at Century City"
My wife and I had a very comfortable stay at the Intercontinental Beverly Hills. The room was very well appointed with a balcony overlooking LA. The staff were very attentive and a minor misunderstanding on arrival was skilfully and discreetly resolved by Majed Sayess the Front Desk Manager. The location was great for the Airport and Venice Beach as well as Beverly Hills.
