"Peaceful and comfortable"
This is my 2nd stay and a very happy customer. Normally I would give breakfast a miss but the spread is one of the better ones where I made the special effort to eat at 6am every single day. Room was clean, bedding was comfortable and the staff are always ready to greet you. I loved the lobby which had sufficient seating to wait for my ride in the morning. Internet was hassle free. The minimart within the hotel made it easy to grab a small snack in the night too. An excellent business hotel overall.
"A touch of guilt"
My 'home away from home' is IC Tokyo Bay. The best IC rooms are at Osaka New Front. My guilt comes from writing this review that fairly and squarely states the IC Mid-Plaza Jakarta is without a doubt the best IC property I've stayed in, Mind you, I only know about 12 or 14 properties, but Jakarta is stunning. The lobby is magnificent. The Club Lounge is brilliant. The in-house food, especially at Scussa (thanks Jufri) is elevated and sublime. From Indra on the door, to the management staff who took time to come and say 'hello' there is that beautiful 'thing' I know as the warmth of the Indonesian Heart. I simply could not think of staying anywhere else. This property ticks every box as 5/5. If you stay and don't like it, then go home, it will obviously be beyond your ability to enter, relax, unwind, enjoy, and recharge your productivity. But if you stay and love it like me, then write a review and say so. There is nothing nicer than having a cold Bintang in the lobby bar within the outstanding foyer.
"One of the top Intercontinental hotels because of its great club lounge"
Although some travellers said this huge hotel was in need of a facelift, and it is a bit dated, it totally does not matter if you stay on the club floor and have lounge access. Puspa Kirina, and the rest of the club lounge staff, did their utmost best to make our stay as comfortable as possible. They went above and beyond trying to locate my favorite Indonesian treat, klepon, calling bakeries in the vicinity since the hotel restaurant did not have any available that day. Overall, The food choices were amazingly varied, and their made to order open kitchen featured different themes each night: shabu shabu, seafood etc.High tea was served in the afternoon with delicious scones and cream as well as tea sandwiches. Plentiful array of food for breakfast also. The location is good, next to a mall ---and outdoor food stalls in front of the hotel provided local color. We stayed in the Menteng area as well as mid plaza, and both areas had their advantages.Djakarta is a chaotic , colorful, pedestrian unfriendly place, but staying at the Intercontinental was a peaceful respite from the outside world.
"Very nice and well located"
I stayed here with a friend on business. We were in the Club section of the hotel so I cannot comment on the main portion of the hotel. The rooms were well appointed and clean. Staff were very pleasant and eager to please. The food offerings in the club lounge were plentiful. Breakfast was lovely with made to order eggs each day, and the typical assortment otherwise. Fantastic cappuccinos, etc. Tea service was also very good. Evening cocktails was nice, and if not overly hungry it could pass for dinner. The pool was nice, well appointed as well. As was the spa, however my service was certainly not up to the expectations I'd have had. There were small glitches.... But nothing of real significance. I'm a fan of the IHG brand. This did not disappoint.
"Ok hotel but a bit outdated"
This hotel is showing some typical old 5* hotel issues. The rooms are tired, the bathrooms outdated and the whole place needs drastic updating. But the staff is extremely friendly and the service very good. But this is not 5* price worthy
