"Great hotel and location"
Stayed for one night and found the hotel and service was great. The rooms are large and nice, and the hotel itself looks great. I went to the gym and enjoyed the sauna and pool before heading out for dinner. Location is great for walking around Old Montreal or the shopping area. The metro is also close-by, but I didn't use it. I will certainly return.
"Overpriced, in desperate need of some updating"
Went with 2 other couples. Our rooms were a very unpleasing burgundy; carpets, couch, pillows, blankets. The beds were comfy however the pillows were too soft. The bathroom was a decent size but the shower was small, the counters, sink, faucet etc were outdated and not in a charming historical way. They needed repair, even the toilet seat had a chunk out of it. Light fixtures, door handles, chrome finishes were all dirty. You have to keep your curtains closed at all times unless your okay with a couple hundred windows seeing into your room. There's an in-house bar that had horrific service. The waiter couldn't bother to tend to us. Didn't take our order for a long time and when he did he only took the food order which he didn't get right and then he walked away. My husband had to go to the bar to order our drinks and the waiter screwed that up to but didn't seem to care. He dropped off our expensive food and never came back except to tell us that he needed us to pay (we were still eating) as he was switching to the restaurant to work. No one ever came back to clear our plates or see if we wanted to order more drinks. I would definitely not return to the bar. Self park is $25 and valet is $34. We did valet and tipped $10 and still had to load our luggage and return the baggage cart. Not impressed. Location: The location is the only thing this place has going for it. Centrally located to several tourist sights , metro and shopping mall located in the basement. Overall, not worth the money.
"Overnight before getting on Silverseas cruise"
Hotel and personnel were good. The restaurant in th hotel was average. Stayed there because the cruise line recommended it. I would probably stay somewhere else next time but it was close to the old city do you could explore on foot.
"great customer service from someone special..."
I stayed in this hotel very recently and was so impressed with the great customer service from a special lady... Her name was Marie Ange, and is one of the wonderful staff in this hotel..she is a housekeeper. As I walked out of my room, Marie-Ange saw me and straight away recognised me from a previous stay (about a year ago)...very proactive, she asked me if I wanted my room to be clean...gave me all the necessary amenities for my stay ...extremely polite and ever so helpful...this is the kind of small details that makes a customer happy and makes you want to come back ....well done !!
"wonderful hotel:location, staff, ambience ... excellent!"
We stayed for 4 nights and enjoyed it immensely. Room was extremely quiet; the thermostat seemed a bit "off" but that wasn't a big problem as long as you knew not to trust it! The location is super-convenient for Old Montreal access, and a short 10 -15 minute walk to Sherbrooke St., etc. Our room came with access to the lounge with breakfast (very good!) and drinks & snacks in the evening (more than snacks; could be a meal!). Great service throughout and a helpful concierge (Gerry). Sarah B lounge was lovely and provided a good introduction to absinthe. Overall, excellent hotel experience.
