"Central location to explore Montreal"
The hotel is located on the edge of the old city of Montreal and is well located for tourists. The reception was friendly and effecient. The rooms are reasonably sized and were sufficient for our four night stay.Although not extra large the rooms were adequate in size for a couple. Our room overlooked the adjacent park and also the city. The bathroom facility was good. The bar "Sarah B" was friendly and the service good. The hotel has good access to the Montreal underground which can be all undercover - great in winter on cold days. The hotel is also linked to a shopping complex and another hotel so there are a number of dining options close by. A good option for tourists in Montreal.
"Better than expected"
This is an IHG property and I've stayed at other Intercontinentals but this location really wowed me. If your looking for personal travel this is near Old Montreal so really perfect for walking to this great part of town. As a business traveller this room was fantastic, big open space, perfect desk with ample plugs for devices all over the room. A large comfortable chair with footrest. Huge washroom with my #1 favourite option - a standing shower! Strong wifi, nice lobby and helpful concierge. Only negative is the pool hours are not helpful to a business traveller, 7am to 7:30pm'! Especially since they have a GREAT pool. Very long, clearly made for doing laps, salt water and warm. In the change rooms are both a sauna and steam room. I'm a budget traveller and got a great deal through TripAdvisor but if you collect IHG points double check the site. Loved this stay.
My husband and I stayed in the Intercontinental for 3 nights. My husband is in the Ambassadors Club and we were upgraded to one of the Ambassador suites on the 25th floor which was great. Our room was very spacious and extremely comfortable and we had a large bedroom, large lounge room and a very well appointed bathroom. We were able to access the Club lounge and this was fantastic. We were also given a welcome gift of chocolates, fruit and sparkling mineral water and were able to have anything in the minbar for free which was great when you felt like a soft drink. We enjoyed a beautiful breakfast every morning and in the evening canapés and drinks, I must say though that the canapés were so generous we didn't need to eat dinner!! The staff went out of their way to make us feel welcome and comfortable and the staff in the Club lounge were fantastic. The hotel is well located to attractions and also to the underground network to the shops. We didn't eat in the restaurant which looked lovely but we did have cocktails and dessert in the bar. All of the staff in the hotel go above and beyond to make your stay both comfortable and memorable. Thank you to everyone for making our stay so fantastic!
Being a member of the Intercontinental Ambassadors Club, we have stayed at many Intercontinental hotels. This one was well below par. We were booked into a family suite and I honestly could not stay in it. It was dingy, smelly and stuffy. Desperately in need of a renovation. We ended up staying in a regular room with two double beds - better than the suite but really only a three star room. We still had to pay the suite rate but were offered club access. What a joke! The breakfast in the club lounge was inedible. This hotel is not up to Intercontinental standards.
"Comfortable and Classy"
We stayed here for four nights in October 2016. The room was lovely, clean, and quiet. The bathroom had plenty of space and the shower was nice and hot. We stayed above the 20th floor and had a beautiful view of the city.
