"A perfect place to stay"
I read a negative review and wondered why' The place is next to the old town so plenty to see. Right next to the metro so easy to get around. Linked to the underground city so no matter what the weather nothing stops. If you find hotel breakfast or lunch too expensive then go into the mall next door there is a good food hall downstairs with a Starbucks. The room was comfortable but as a suggestion do a survey on how many guests use baths nowadays, walk in showers far more pleasant and safer. Have a few baths for those who like them but they use too much water.
"Well Located Near Old Montreal and Notre Dame"
Our family spent a long weekend at the InterContinental Montreal and would certainly return. The self park underground lot has a very low ceiling which caused damage to my roof racks and nobody warned me against entering. There is a better self parking lot the next block up to the left. The bell staff was very helpful with our luggage and check in was easy and the staff was friendly. The room was clean and modern although not very well lit. I think this is an industry wide issue associated with lower output LED bulbs. The fitness area is serviceable but quite small. The location is fantastic just around the corner for Notre Dame and Old Montreal and a few blocks from St. Catherine's Street. Depending on the temperature, you are within walking distance of many fine restaurants which you might find appealing as the hotel's food was average at best. This is overall a nice hotel and great value when you factor in the USD/CAD exchange rate.
"Perfect Stay in Montreal"
My sister and I had a girls vacation and stayed here for 3 nights. This hotel is really amazing and we couldn't have enjoyed our stay more. I had originally booked a club room with a king bed, however since I was travelling with my sister, we really wanted 2 beds. I contacted the hotel a week prior to our reservation and asked if it was possible to get a club room with 2 beds. I received a prompt response and we were upgraded to a room with one king and one twin room, it was great. As well our train was arriving in Montreal at 12:00 p.m. and we wanted to be able to check in and start our vacation, so I had also asked the hotel if they could arrange for early check in and they did, we arrived at 12:30 and our room was ready to go, check in was very quick and pleasant, we were given some info about the club room and health/gym facilities and also given written information. The hotel location is really great, a 5 minute walk to notre-dame and old town, there are numerous restaurants close by and also hotel has underground access which is great if it's cold outside. The hotel is also within walking distance to St. Chaterine, St. Laurent and China town which may all be of interest to tourists. We splurged for the club room which gave us 24/h access to the club, and it ended up being a great decision. We really enjoyed our visits to the club room. In the morning they offer complimentary breakfast, which includes, eggs, cheese, sausage, other breakfast meets, bread and pastries, lots of fresh berries and jam, along with tea/coffee/juice milk etc. Breakfast is served from 7-10:30 a.m. Between 5:30 p.m. and 7:30 p.m. club room serves complimentary drinks and has a nice buffet of snacks which include delicious breads, mountains of olives, a main dish, one night it was a vegetarian lasagna, one night a chicken dish, another night a couscous dish, you could totally skip dinner and have a nice early dinner in the club room. The only suggestion I would make is adding a vegan option to the cocktail hour, as both my sister and I are vegan and we were only able to have the bread and olives (which we really enjoyed) but having a vegan dip like hummus or baba ghanoush or even some olive oil and viniger with the bread would have taken things to the next level. I should also make a note about housekeeping, they did a very good job of keeping the room clean and the few times we asked for a few things ie slippers, toothbrush, extra tea coffee pods, it was delivered promptly. Overall this is a really great hotel, excellent value and it will be my new go to hotel in Montreal.
"Not up to standards - stay somewhere else "
I have stayed at Intercontinental hotels around the world and this experience will likely cause me to avoid them going forward. The bad experience started immediately, had to double park in front of the hotel, look for someone to ask about parking...finally found someone and he was friendly enough, but they should really have someone outside or block a space in front of the hotel so you don't have to get honked at while figuring out what to do. Next the check in, our room wasn't ready, which is understandable given it was 1:30, came back a few hours later when our room was ready and the bad experience continued: first there was only two people working reception: all I needed was to get my key but the clerk ran off to assist the other clerk. Finally she came back and gave me the key but didn't explain anything about the hotel ---so I had to walk around looking for the elevators. Next I get to the room expecting a mini bar and nothing, so I return to ask whether there is a market to get some drinks for the room - she proceeds to tell me about a market out the door and to the right, after walking for 15 minutes nothing and my phone had died since I didn't have a room to charge my phone. Came back to hotel and the bellman gave me correct directions. Last bad experience, we had an early morning flight so I tried calling three times to reception for a wake up call and nobody would answer....finally was able to leave a message and get the wake up call. This hotel is obviously mismanaged, understaffed and not up to the experience standards of intercontinental. Much better options to try nearby. Very disappointed!
"great modern hotel downtown"
nice place, beside Palais des Congres, big rooms, especially corner units. bar is a little expensive for the area compare to other hotels. little parking, and what's around is very expensive. can be a little noisy at night due to party crowd during week-ends.
Credit cards accepted by the hotel: Visa - MasterCard
Check-in: 4:00 PM , Check-out: 12:00 PM
