"Great Hotel and location"
This hotel is the best not far from Times Square walking distance.Ask for city room view the higher the better.Staff were excellent and hotel spotless.Central Park was walking distance. The bus tours were just out hotel door and round the corner.Shows were all nearby. The famous Macys about ten fifteen minute walk. The bar round the corner Smiths was excellent for food and with Starbucks just across the street for breakfast was handy as well. There is alovely though expensive shonp called Sugar was also across the road to the left selling drinks and sweets was very good.
The staff was very nice. I enjoyed the feeling of staying in an older hotel. Although I missed some of the more modern conveniences of staying at a newer hotel. The location was fantastic. Close to the square and a short walk to grand central station.
"Great Location, Good service, Good overall experience !"
Your typical Intercontinental; you know what to expect. Fast check-in, good pleasant reception staff. Clean room and good housekeeping staff. Location is great!! Its in the center of all the happenings in Manhattan. Enjoy your stay.
"Good location and Excellent Staff"
We recently spent a week-end in New York City and found the location of this hotel to be right where we wanted - walking distance to the Theatre District, close but not too close to Times Square, and easy to navigate from by Taxi, subway or walking. Our room had a nice view and was quite comfortable. It was a corner room so there was really not much room for a chair, but a chair would have been nice. The bed was very comfortable with nice linens. The bathroom was awesome with a great shower and really nice and large and fluffy towels. The amenities were standard to InterContinental. Hotel staff was helpful and efficient by and large - especially housekeeping, room service and the doormen and they are UNION! When we first arrived (early), the front desk staff person who helped me was very welcoming and said he would try and have my room ready early. When I went back to check after an hour, the next guy was really rude and irritated that I was even asking. I then found there was an Ambassador Check-In and again found the person to be helpful and accommodating. It is a shame that the business center costs so much for use by people staying on property. Accessing my email just to print out tickets to a cruise cost about $7.50, when a Holiday Inn Express usually provides a computer and printer free of charge. All in all a very positive experience.
"Excellent property, wonderful 2 night stay with my family"
Stayed Saturday and Sunday nights over Thanksgiving 2016. Very well located by Times Square, can walk virtually everywhere in the theater district. The bar makes tasty honey drinks from their own bee hives on the roof. Stayed in an upgraded room for a better view, and it was worth it for the city views of 8th Avenue and 45th street. We will definitely be back.
