"Lovely relaxing break"
We have been staying at this hotel for 3 nights for a friends birthday celebration. The hotel room we had was a good size, lovely and quiet, great view of the river. Beds very comfortable with a splendid choice of pillows. The spa area is a good size with a jacuzzi and a reasonably sized pool, not big enough to swim lengths but good enough for a nice relaxing swim. We spent a relaxing morning enjoying a HR spa. The hotel is an easy walk to all places of interest in Prague. So if you enjoy walking it's a great place to stay. Alternatively use the small tourist buses. We even took a ride in an open top car which was great fun and gave us a good tour of the town. Hotel staff are very helpful especially the maids that service the rooms. Can highly recommend this hotel for a relaxing stay in a busy tourist city.
"Poor Welcome Impression"
The visit started out badly when I was informed at check in that my reservation had been cancelled (no idea why) and accommodating me would be difficult if not impossible since the group that I was with had booked all the rooms. Even a printed reservation confirmation was not good enough for the associate. Finally, I was given a room with poor grace. It was not what I had requested on my reservation, since due to an ankle injury I had specified that I needed a walk in shower. No luck! I was expected to be grateful that I was even given a room. This naturally did not start off the visit well and my Ambassador status (the IHG frequent guest program which is a paid service) did not seem to make much difference. The room itself was comfortable (except for shower problem) it was well serviced by the staff. The eating facilities were extremely satisfactory. The breakfast buffet included in the room rate was generous and freshly prepared. The other facility, Duke's bar and restaurant had a sufficiently diverse light menu, high tea, and the service was prompt and courteous. Clearly, the weakest aspect of this property is its front desk, but that is where the guest gets their first impression of the place. Location is central to the historic downtown and reasonable walking distance to the Rudolfinium and Charles Bridge.
I was particularly impressed by the special attention and dedication of the administrative team when I raised an issue with the free internet. The night manager himself promptly came up and placed a free router in the room. The professionalism was exceptional. The location is perfect for a visit to Prague. It could not have been better with that regard. The food and room amenities were excellent. "Beautifully situated but pricey and dated - a safe but uninspiring choice "
There is nothing fundamentally wrong with this ICH in Prague. It has an excellent central location by the river and good access to both river banks. From the outside it looks rather like an old 70s office block but looks improve inside. Decent facilities (gym, pool etc) and well appointed rooms. The food is pretty standard. If you're looking for a highly priced 'safe' option then this is for you but you can stay in huge apartments just nearby for a third of the price. Some staff are superb but others are surly and abrupt. I went there for an on-site conference and the hotel coped well. I have no urge to return and for my last night I have moved elsewhere.
The hotel location was best. Very near to all the places you want to visit in Prague. Room was good with friendly staff. Breakfast was a wide spread with extra Japanese cuisine option. Fresh juice was served. Though, check if breakfast is included with your stay.
