well it was the first time with family and friends at this hotel. the kids absolutely loved the place and the service was excellent. the part that impressed me most was the service by Nadia at the kids area. she was so patient and understanding and went out of her way to entertain the kids. apart from my kids I saw her taking care of a baby in the pram that must have been about a year old. she always had a smile on her face and so did her friends in the kids area. well done Nadia and team and will definitely be back.
I visited mauritius for nye holidays with my boyfriend. Intercontinental Balaclava is an amazing place, the food is very very good in all of the resort's restaurants. Our room is large and confortable.
The resort is in almost any way excellent except for one thing. If you like swimming in the sea there is limited space between the beach and the reef. This is because of the tide. The problem only occurs when the tide is out but still a small minus. Otherwise restaurants are great and the staff dosent know how to please you enough.

I visited this property in march 2016. It's really a wonderful property with its private beach. Food is also awesome with international buffet having Indian food. Rooms are sea facing. Services are also excellent.

It's been a while since I've experienced such bad service, food and uncleanliness in a Hotel From arrival it all went wrong, no welcome drink, room not ready besides us having paid for the previous days room (our fault for arriving late but room was paid for in advance and should have been ready . The hotel was notified several times yet they weren't prepared The family room provided was adequate at best but dirty, the main headboard had the previous guests mucous stains all over the headboard. It took house keeping an hour to arrive to clean (using a dish cloth and water from the bathroom, no soap or disinfectant The dinner room service wasn't fit for a dog. From the terrible prawns, unclean /unprepared calamari, dry lamb curry etc Breakfast room service didn't even arrive as they completely forgot to collect the breakfast cards After many complaints we were paid a visit by the management and give them their dues they did try their best, however the next day the same bad service at the pool bar and non existent beach service prevailed yet again. Drinks are waters down and they encourage you to drink piped Pepsi as coke is not on the all inclusive package The terrible lunch buffet doesn't change Food today consisting of barbecued beef,chicken and fish was being prepared outside , the protein was in the hot sun and covered in flies (a simple umbrella and fly net would have resolved the problem, the chefs are clueless and frankly don't care. The all inclusive package is an absolute joke (the wine is from South Africa, Overmeer and sells for R100 about 6EUROS FOR 5LITRES AND COMES IN A BOX The buffet selection is the worst I've seen on the island (which I visit at least twice year) There is just no attention to detail, staff seem demotivated (barring one or two, Sam at the bar and Aza at the Indian restaurant) I could go on and on with small issues but would rather send a message to management that they need to get their act together. After all this is a 5 star hotel (absolute joke) Excuse me while a head back to take my antibiotics
