"Fantastic Jain food"
Stayed at intercontinental for the latter part of our honeymoon, having stayed at Westin for the first part. So the whole review would be in comparison with our experience at Westin! Intercontinental,Mauritius is fantastic for people consuming Jain food! Chef Harsh Mani and Chef Arnab Pal were outstanding! Stayed there for 6 days and chef Harsh Mani made us delicious and plenty of dishes for breakfast each day at Senso!! There wasn't a single dish which we would say was mediocre. They were some heavenly breakfasts in a long time for us! Kudos to his cabbage parathas, pav bhaji, dal vada and upma!! Dined at Veda for three nights and Chef Arnab Pal also made some praiseworthy dishes for us!! His tomato shorba, dal makhani, fusion Nachos, vegetable khichdi and pakora kadhi, Nilgiri Korma were exquisite! Special thanks to Pratisha, Shan, Yash and Naveen at Veda for their distinctive services!! Dinner at noble house was very unpleasant! Were served a three course meal even though we were on half board! My wife didn't like her main course and she asked if she could have what I had in my main course and the chef denied her and said it would be as a supplement cost!! Unprofessional behaviour and that takes one star out of our rating for intercontinental!! Segala served us some okayish food! Has the potential to serve some savoury jain food if it is encouraged by the head chef!! Now coming to the property, we felt Westin was way better!! Though we were upgraded to a presidential suite, we didn't like the ambience much. Felt the rooms were outdated and need urgent refurbishing. Swimming pools were the worst part of this property. Too dirty!! Ambience and quality wise we felt Westin was way posh!! It gave us an actual feeling of a 5* Food wise intercontinental stole the show!!
"Excellent service..exceeded customers expectations"
Two of my family members visited the IHG In Mauritius and their feedback was positive: amazing hotel more than a 5 star, the food was delicious, the service was excellent. The most friendly and helpful staff. Amenities were changed every day and the rooms are world class. These are first time International travellers just a big thank you to the hotel team who made them feel welcome and at home. A guaranteed return ....once again thank you, you have exceeded the expectations.
"Great Service and attention to detail"
I was visiting Mauritius for the first time and it was to celebrate my 40th birthday. From check-in to check-out the guest services were really helpful. Kevin, the head concierge and his team made my stay really memorable. When they found out it was my birthday Kevin went out of his way to help me create memories, from inviting me out on a sunset cruise (ending with dancing Sega on the beach) along with a few other guests on my birthday, to arranging for me to get a cake at dinner in one of the hotel restaurants (Veda) where he made reservations for me. I also wanted to dance salsa with the locals and Atish took the time to help me make the calls that saw me ending up at a fantastic party in Eben (Kas Poz). Their spa was also fantastic....Claudia my therapist was heaven-sent and I felt pampered after my two visits over the 4 days. I would recommend this hotel to anyone and I'm likely to stay there when I go back in the future.
Just returned from a couple of weeks at the Intercontinental Mauritius. The hotel is beautifully set on a private beach and the staff are marvellous - nothing is too much trouble for anyone. We were made to feel so special and very welcome from the time we set foot in the magnificent Reception area. I didn't want to come home.
