"Very good service, rooms a bit old"
Hotel deserves a very good rating based primarily on the service, everyone was extremely friendly, a warm welcome and then attentive service throughout is great to see. To room itself was large and comfortable but really does need modernising, especially the bathroom which was grimy and uncomfortable - because of this aspect the hotel does not really meet 5 star standards. Other positives however: a really great breakfast and a good location especially if visiting government ministries. Recommended so long as you know what to expect when it comes to the rooms.
"Same old same old "
While the city has been transformed in the intervening period, not entirely for the better, there is remarkably little that has changed in this hotel since I first stayed here over 25 years ago. The quandary for the IHG brand is how to spruce up a relic of a bygone age, a challenge which applies equally to a number of other Intercon's in Saudi, notably Jeddah and even more so, Jubail. So much of what the hotel offers is more than adequate. The room was of decent size, although lacking in natural light and perhaps a tad dated. However, the bed was super comfy and boasted top quality linen. A good bright bathroom with a powerful shower but an utterly hopeless faucet in the handbasin. Front desk staff were gracious and professional. The lobby itself is a gaudy affair, a jaded overload of beige marble and chandeliers. There are excellent sports facilities including a well appointed gym and, somewhat unusually, a pitch and putt. All in all, a good solid package for the business traveller worthy of 3.5/5.
"Good busy business stay"
The hotel is very friendly, clean and has great services. New gym and great pool plus a golf course. Note woman can't use the gym. This is Saudi Arabia. That said it's probably the best place to stay in Riyadh if you are a woman. Ambassador rooms are very modern and very well appointed. High end everything. It's a good location to get everywhere but only use the hotel cars or careem (which is the regional version) of unber. Especially if you don't know the city or country well. Oh the app for careem can be downloaded from the App Store.
"An oasis in the city"
I stayed in this hotel for my visit. It is a large hotel with many facilities. The staff is really nice and helpful. It offers a huge gym and pool area. (Of course men only) In the Club Lounge I could enjoy delicious food. The rooms are large, but a little bit dark. The hotel itself is situated right in the centre.
"Very nice Hotel"
I was here at the InterContinental Riyadh several times... the Hotel is very nice, the staff is very polite and helpful... the new gym is one of the best hotel gyms I've seen so far... great staff also! The rooms are typical InterConti, clean and well equipped...
