Rooms are pretty good - generous size and reasonable quality. Only complaint is showers over bath rather than walk in showers. Some are noisy too with rooms facing the local mosque so no need for an early alarm call!
"The ideal home away from home"
I have stayed in many hotels in Riyadh - from the uber modern and contemporary to the run-of-the-mill chain property typical of this region. The InterContinental is certainly an older property, and the rooms and style of decor is NOT brand new or contemporary or modern at all. I stayed here for 8 months (yes, for over 200 days) ... it was the ideal place for such a long stay. Large bedrooms, fantastic new gym, pool and sauna / steam / jacuzzi areas, great staff, very friendly and helpful, adequate F&B options, even a 9-hole golf course. Abdulaziz Saleh Almarri at Reception is one of those people who just know how to make you feel at home. Alfred at the breakfast restaurant always with a smile and perfect coffee waiting. While I will go home now, I will have fond memories of the InterCon.
Checked in for one day, reception was very good and fast in checkin but the room is over rated. Yes it's spacious but quality is poor. Seemed like it was not cleaned for ages, bathroom curtain smelled funny. Breakfast was not up to standard, very regular you can get from any cafe down the street. Overall experience was not pleasant. In addition to price was WAY high than expected.
"Everything is so luxurious!!"
The ride from the airport takes about 20 minutes depending on the traffic ofcourse!! The hotel looks so luxurious and the staff and their service make it worth while 👍 The buffet breakfast was quite nice with a wide range of items. The Room service was nice aswell , prices are bit on the higher end but it's a 5star rate after all! The room is quite spacious with a tv, coffee maker, cappuccino machine 😍 , fridge, hair dryer. For ladies we can ask for Exercise Bike in room✌ The wifi was quite stable all through my stay! There are a couple of big shopping malls and also super market near by, the taxi takes around 10 minutes. Enjoy your stay...
"A good base to work from"
This hotel is close to the Ministry of the Interior. It has well appointed and spacious rooms and large grounds. The shower was a bath shower rather than a walk-in. I used the club lounge facilities for breakfast and dinners (small buffet nibbles) when not out at a restaurant. Women should not assume access to the pool or gym. Women are required to wear the abaya in public spaces, but the hotel has abayas available for those who need them, at no cost. All staff were helpful and efficient.
