"Older luxury hotel"
I use the hotel since many years and in the meantime the rooms are completely renovated. The rooms are OK but there are the small things where you see that the hotel became old. But it didn't disturb really. Breakfast is good. I even tested the fitness facilities, which are new except the connection to tv or displays to watch a movie during workout. Small things. The first time I experienced problems to get a cap in the morning. The entrance is a bit hidden from the main street and therefore maybe not to many cap driver are going in. Maybe it is also because everybody is ordering the caps via an app.
"Run down hotel that doesn't deserve the Intercontinental brand. "
Except for the service (good) and the Chinese restaurant on the 2nd floor, everything else was really disappointing. This hotel is run down and badly needs a renovation. The rooms are clean, but outdated to say the least. My room was noisy because of the strong sound of the elevators running up and down. The gym is very small, has limited equipment and over heated. I'm glad to move to the Intercontinental Ruijin today (other side of town). A hidden gem that, also very old, still is very good and recommendable.
"Very good business hotel"
Very good hotel with excellent service and amazing breakfast with a lot of different offerings. The hotel is close to a subway station what makes it esay to explore the city. Pickup service from the airport is available and is also of excellent quality.
"Excellent Rooms, Brilliant Food"
Stayed here for 3 days post cruise and were not disappointed. The rooms are well appointed with comfortable beds and spotlessly clean. The breakfast buffet is huge and the food is very high quality, and, for those from Europe or North America you can sample Asian breakfasts and more unusual fruit juices as well as complete American and Continental breakfasts. We had a Club room and the service in the Club lounge is more personal but with a more limited menu although it will be enough for most. In the evening the Lounge serves a wide selection of items and drinks and this alone makes it worth the extra. Some really exotic teas are available throughout the day and I really enjoyed the Rose Oolong which had rose buds mixed in with the tea. Our only issue was that the room was a little hot at night and this probably relates to the time of our visit in March where there are quite large variations in temperatures and the difficulty in both heating and cooling a room rapidly. That aside we enjoyed our stay immensely.
"Great hotel...I'll be staying again"
Came to Shanghai to visit our new local office. Given the new location, this was the first time I'd stayed at the Pudong Intercontinental. I'll definitely be back as it's a very nicely appointed hotel, comfortable and with excellent service. I had booked a Club Room and it was excellent. Very nicely appointed with a comfortable king bed, it has all of the things you'd need to feel looked after. The bathroom was spacious and modern with an interesting twist in the wardrobe that opened on the bedroom side and the bathroom side....clever idea!! Also, very impressive is the Club Lounge on the 24th floor. Possibly the best "Club" experience I've had in a hotel. The staff couldn't have been more helpful and the selection of good wines were poured in healthy measures! The evening buffet selection of western, Chinese and Japanese styles was excellent as was the breakfast in the morning. All up, you'd go a long way to have a better hotel experience in China or indeed in many countries in the world. I'll be back!!
